Great BBQ

I bought a four burner barbie from Doc in 2010. Worked great. Hot and fast. Ten years later I had Doc replace the black pipe burners with the newer Japanese stainless slotted ones, add a mezzanine deck so I could put lava stones on one side above the burners. Nice for slow even cooking but the wife prefers the stone free side for quick unplanned cooking. Very good quality. Never even had to replace a sparker. Still looks Sweet As.

After going through two Char-Broil branded , my neighbor bought a Battle Cruiser last year and has been doing a lot of smoking with it along with conventional grilling. He is very pleased with the double wall stainless for those low and slow cooks

Very moist pork loin. Hardly had enough meat left over for a proper sanger the next day!

I can see how a proper BBQ restaurant would really enjoy building a custom rig with Quik-Fire. The finer points in design are really best described in english when the customer speaks english. Even a regular fella like myself can see the absolute stark difference in build quality, design, thickness and grade of the stainless steel of your Udon based products. Those cheap Chinese versions I see on Lazada are one year wonders. Yours are built for a lifetime.

I see you are shipping to Bangkok. I have a friend over in Vientiane thinking about getting one. Do you ship there or would he be best to drive over to pick it up?

Hey Doc .. over the weekend i bumped into the guy who bought our QF bbq from.the Chern Chim.business and not surprisingly he commented how it turned out to be his best purchase ever .. many years of bbqing and still.in perfect shape .. a testament to the workmanship.that goes into your various units .. fantasric stainless skills.

May be in the market orr a BBQ myself ..when i get the garden finished and QF is the go to supplier to design n build it .

Love the workmanship, Doc. The BBQ I bought back ~2010 is still cooking well and I enjoyed cooking a few beef tenderloins and pork chops while my daughter visited last month. She was equally impressed when she compared it to the name brand one she has back home purchased from a garden centre.

Just wondering. I have some Lazada purchased tables supposed to be stainless steel but seem to rust very easily. I look at my Quik-Fire barbie and no rust at all. I wonder if you, or any of the fine welders out in the community, can comment on the differences between the cheaper quality stainless and the type you fellas use at your manufacturing facility.

Thank you for your post and inquiry.

There are more than 250 grades of stainless steel.

For inland-applications we use the strong stainless grade, 201.
For on ‘or near’ saltwater-salt air applications we use high grade, 304 stainless.

Using two quality grades allows our customers ‘not’ to pay more for a stainless
grade they do not need... unless they choose to do so.

It seems most imported BBQ’s claim to be made of 304 and that may be.
However, grade of grade is the question of which should be a consideration.

Grade 201/304 – A difference of nickel...
In order to understand the distinction between these two grades of stainless
steel, it is helpful to know why 201 became popular in the first place. At one
point, the price and availability of nickel became prohibitive to the production
of grade 304. This created an opening in the market for an alloy that used less
nickel and thus would not be subject to price increases as easily.

How does the decrease in nickel affect the steel?
Grade 201 stainless steel is a go-to metal choice for strong specialized heavy-
duty use, but not quite corrosion-resistant as 304 limiting its practicality in
harsh environments on ‘or near’ saltwater / salt-air.

Applications for both.
Due to the differences and similarities between the two grades, some of the
uses overlap. Both can be found in automobiles, architecture, railways, and
even appliances.

However, grade 201 is used more often in food preparation industries, including
cooking utensils, sinks, dishwasher components, and other restaurant equipment.

Grade 304 may be used in these applications but is also resistant enough to
corrosion to be used in marine environments where it will be exposed to
corrosive seawater and salt air.
