Just ran through Udon's branch. Another disappointment. No Vlassic pickles here yet. No Johnsonville Hot Italian Sausage.
They did have Nabisco brand saltine crackers, but at 125 baht for 8oz box, I declined. Tesco used to carry a version, albeit made in China, they were perfectly acceptable. Wrapped in individual size servings (perfect for our needs), and only 42 baht for same size box. Haven't seen them in Tesco for awhile now either. TiT

I stopped in today. I had 11 items on my list. They only had 3 of the items. Sad, very sad. I think the writing is on the wall....

Perhaps instead of on the wall, the writing should be on Villa's online customer comment form

Maybe just maybe VM are finding the logistics of getting the huge amount of products they stock into Thailand , thru the red tape jungle and then finally up to Udon on the shelves , also no doubt their rent is astronomical as well .
Lets not forget this is a franchise so its possible VM HQ direct the products as they see fit so maybe not all the fault of the Udonthani management .....tizz my experience its easy for customers to have a whinge about certain items missing off shelves without realizing the difficulties in keeping such a place adequately stocked .... and definately one of the factors in Dao n I selling up CC ,,, i much prefer wholesaling it cuts out he face on face front counter dealings , no high cost retail premises working from an office n warehouse , low over heads and our own trucks covering all the logistics rather than relying on outside couriers makes it all the better .
Even Bisto mi dogs veal puffs and deer shanks were missing in VM last week .........sad ... he had to make do with a slice of toast with Marmite on ... i did get some brilliant Feta cheese , cheese cake mix in a box and some breakfast waffle /pancake things , all very nice .

Vlasic WHOLE dills now BACK IN STOCK (after 8 month absence). Actually they were in last week and just went in this morning to get another jar in case there's another shortage. Many in stock today. 46oz 189 baht, 32oz 169 baht (that's about 1 baht more per oz to save you the calcs). Absolutely essential for the best tasty burgers. IMHO.

The Villa Market here in Udon is taking a more proactive approach to customer service. They have hired an English speaking Thai lady whose sole purpose is to assist shoppers with whatever they need. Ms Tatar is available to assist you with your shopping needs 6 days a week (friday is her holiday). Would you like the store to stock a particular item not carried right now? See Ms Tatar. Complaints? See Ms Tatar. Pricing problems (shelf price doesn't match the price at the register) see Ms. Tatar. She told me yesterday that she would do her best to assist Villa Market shoppers.
Merchandise arrivals: Meats, seafood and I believe frozen food all arrive on Friday from BKK. All other dry goods arrive on Sunday morning. I'm not sure about the fresh veggies but I'll bet Ms Tatar knows.
Frozen foods: They have increased their variety of frozen foods to include Canadian lobster, Giant Alaskan Crab, and a number of other seafood items. They are also now stocking Lenders Onion Bagels in case you would rather have the US brand instead of the fresh ones made in BKK found in the bread department.
I noticed that the shelves are finally beginning to fill up with a variety of items that I've not seen here before.
As an aside yesterday I saw a couple from Laos wheel out with about 5 or 6 shopping carts full to the brim with goods to include fresh milk. Apparently they're happy customers who I'm told return often.

We were there around 11:30-ish and Ms. Tatar was hovering around with her clipboard. We found what we were looking for and probably left within 15 minutes or so. Not many customers. Since I found everything I was looking for I really didn't spend any time talking to Ms. Tatar but she was certainly following us around awaiting any questions or comments we might have.
