Well the capsicums have only just gone down - they were 50 baht for 3 on Friday. A bit of bad timing by me. Usually can pick up discount ones in Makro about one in 3 trips.

Blimey 100% organic ....... didn't think they checked on that type of thing 40 odd years ago when the trees would have been planted ...... thought they were still trying to kid everyone that adding chemicals would not be harmful back then. Anyone who gambled by going "organic" that long ago certainly deserves to be reaping the rewards now =D>

Coming from Maple Syrup country
If it is PURE Maple Syrup one can freeze it so expiration date is of no consequence
I dont understand Organic Maple Syrup as ALL Maple Syrup is Organic it is from a tree. then boiled down whala Maple Syrup

According to the Massachusetts Maple Producers Association, unopened maple syrup will keep indefinitely, but it must be refrigerated once opened. As for mold, the MMPA says, "If any harmless mold should form on the surface, merely bring the syrup to a slight boil, skim the surface, and pour into a clean container and refrigerate." We haven't tried this ourselves, and are reluctant to recommend it unless you know exactly what kind of mold you have and whether it is truly harmless. Do any of our readers have experience with this?

In addition to refrigerating opened maple syrup, the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers' Association recommends storing unopened maple syrup in a cool place. For long term storage, the Association says that maple syrup retains its flavor best when kept in the freezer (it will not freeze solid).

StillTasty.com indicates that 100 percent pure maple syrup should keep for a year unopened in the pantry, a year opened in the refrigerator, and indefinitely in the freezer.

I am sorry DINGDONG but i undersand that you are NOT Canadian...Then how can you claim to be from Maple Syrup Country ? But i agree with you you can keep maple syrup for a very long time. People used to store gallons of maple syrup in an unheated basement for 2-3 years. I think the worst that can happen is that the syrup might turn into Maple Sugar if left opened for a long period. The organic question arises from the equipment and process employed to produce the sysrup, it also refers to the way the maple forest ( trees) is managed.
