Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
A very good morning to my readers both at home and overseas.......
At Tesco Lotus Extra (off the Nong Khai road) theres currently a bit of a promo on Tesco's own imported stuff.
Tesco breakfast cereals (eg.Strawberry Crisp,Blueberry Wheats etc) reduced from 159 baht to between 89-99 baht, dependant on which cereal you buy.
Also,a nice little find.......Tesco Mature Cheese Oat Nibbles......reduced from 99 baht to 59 baht,I think ? ......but absolutely delicious....."hand baked at a small family owned bakery in Aberdeenshire" it says on the packet.
Also, there is a mini motor show on site....well,very mini actually....but a chance to add a new Mazda or Mitsubishi to your shopping list !

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
These are back in stock at Makro. We enjoyed them the last time they were available and picked up some more today. I think the same price as before @ 79 baht / kilo (or thereabouts).Postby parrot » February 25, 2016, 3:11 pm
I've known several people who have tried to grow beef steak tomatoes in Udon.....all failed. And until today I've never seen beef steak tomatoes on sale in Udon. But Makro had them today......I can't speak for the flavor, but if you're looking for big tomatoes, Makro. About as big as a Fuji/Chinese apple.

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
I've only eaten one so far. It was sweet and juicy. Maybe not quite as delectable as the home-grown Missouri tomatoes but close enough. These, at least, have a decent tomato taste. Certainly a nice change from the usual choices available here.

It looks like Big C are doing bogof on head and shoulders and cooking oil over Songkran.
The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
On the Left side as you drive out of the large wholesale market next to Makro there is a shop / restaurent that specialises in duck. ( Talard Muang Tong )
I bought a frozen duck for 100 B. Included head/ feet no offal.
Not quite as big as the big ones you see hanging around town.
We got 2 bowls of noodle soup and 2 plates of duck meat.
Frame left over to make more soup.
Good value IMO

I looked for this purported bogof on oil and head and shoulders in BigC and couldn't find it all, if anyone does....

Thai Avocados at Makro
4 for approx 95-100 baht , weighted price so it slightly differs per packed bag.
Good bargain, when you consider Kiwi ones at Tops are 99 baht each or 119 baht at Villa.

Bon Aroma Coffee 100g
Big C are doing their offer of buy 1 get 1 free on Bon Aroma 100g again, at 139 baht for two jars of coffee its very cheap. The coffee itself reminds me of the Tesco Gold coffee I used to drink at home so it's not too bad.
