If any one is out and about in the Nong wor Sor ( Nong Wai) area. I have the following books you are welcome to borrow.I can PM my address to anyone interested
Thailand Fever, by Chris Pirazzi & Vittida Vasaani. Useful book as its in both Thai & English so you can both discuss it.
Thai for Lovers. by Nit & Jack Ajee.A complete guide to the romantic culture of Thailand, with a whole chapter on the SIN SOD.
Lady of Issan. by Michael Schemman. A story of a mixed marriage from NE Thailand.
All three fascinating and informative in their own way.
I could alternatively pop them into Pop Pops net about the middle of next week.I'm sure Cliff won't mind. \:D/

Thai for Lovers
excellent for newbie/tourist, especially if the lass' english is a bit lacking, and a great ice breaker. you can bring up a topic you wouldn't normally openly discuss, well, some people anyway, i'm not as shy.
Thailand Fever

after here a while, i obviously don't need that, as very successful in failing relationships without any help       , have not read that, but understand useful in opening dialogue.

Private Dancer, good for popping the ignorant bliss of thai tourist virgins. mandatory read for the plane ride over.

For me the best books about Thailand are those by the Canadian novelist Chistophe Moore.
His detective Calvino series is at a top international quality. There is a new one published this year which I must buy.

If anybody is interested Thai Law for Foreigners is available in B2S. Sorry didn't see the price... They have 2 copies of Thailand Fever on the shelf but both in German.
Thai Law for Foreigners

Introduces you to the development of Thai law and the structure of Thai government and the Thai court system.

Explains legal procedures in Thailand for both criminal and civil matters, how to choose a lawyer, Thai lawyer's ethics and how to work with lawyers and interpreters.

Answers questions on family and personal matters such as Thai citizenship, engagement and dowry, prenuptial agreement, wedding ceremony, making a will, and divorce procedures.

Gives information on living and working in Thailand such as renting a house, working with Thai employees, knowing your rights if you are arrested, things to be aware of and much more.

Contains lots of useful information in the reference section and a glossary of the English and Thai legal terms used in the book.

There is a book sale on the 4th floor (same floor as "I Can Read") of Central Plaza (Charoensri complex). However all the books are Thai so maybe more for your significant other. Some books have 70% off. My g/f bought How to get a Guy You Like, reduced from 125฿ to 38฿
