where can buy black bean sauce?

Hi, can anybody tell me where I may be able to purchase a jar/bottle of black bean sauce in Udon...have tried Lotus but no luck there....cheers!

nong khai on the way to the bridge right hand side "national imports" on a big white sign is a good bet .....or tesco's in engalnd

Ngee Soon is another good place for sometimes hard to get items. Was there on Wednesday getting the essentials i.e, beer! Noticed they have Nutella, Heinz Tartare sauce and various types of vinegar... Oh I'd love REAL chips now with salt and vinegar...

Sorry didn't notice black bean sauce but it could be in a Chinese section if they have Chinese section. Maybe anybody going Saturday can have a look.

l got two jars...........l bring some over when l come............anything else you like trubrit.....my bags empty............my wifes bag full.....l bring you real aussie milo.....cant buy that in udon

Anyone seen any Marmite in Udon or will I have to bring some over as well as the 50+ bags of Walkers Prawn Cocktail crisps!!

It seems that they have stopped making Toastmate B/M. cant get it anywhere.

Yes Not Seen any for sometime, even the Anthony Worrel Thompson Forum have said they are looking into a new distributor...and that was 5 months back.

Try Pringles Prawn Cocktail....just to save space in your case Glen..

make your own

Chili Black Bean Sauce

8 ounces fresh red chilis, stemmed and finely minced
1/3 cup fermented black beans, rinsed and chopped
2 tablespoons peanut or vegetable oil
1 tablespoon yellow rice wine
2 teaspoons dark rice vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar

Cook chilis and black beans in oil over medium-low heat for 1
minute. Add rice wine and vinegar and simmer for another 3 minutes.
Stir in sugar. Remove from heat and let cool before
transfering to storage container. Sauce and be stored in the fridge for
up to 3 weeks.
