Guest Houses - Safety deposit boxes

Post by THAI ROB » March 21, 2006, 2:03 am

I am planning my first visit to Udon. Please can someone confirm that the guest houses of which several look promising, have safety deposit boxes, as this is not indicated on the various guesthouses websites.

At City Lodge, I haven't seen any safety deposit boxes, but they have 1 or 2 desk drawers with a key lock.

Might have a lockbox at the bar, never asked though.

Try Irsh Clock.

You can swipe a credit card in the safe or enter your own pin.

Yes, I know that the security of in-room safes is a bit illusory. A prior guest at a place in Pattaya had locked mine in the open position and the desk clerk was able to unlock it in a couple of minutes with a hand held electronic device. But taking the wall apart with a screw-driver--I don't think so.

Bad advise :D

electronic roomsaves are very good, hard to believe the staff will open them.
Any other double key safe at the reception is good too, most hotels or better guesthouses will have them
