thanks albeach, have to agree, bias, but a cutie.
banpaeng, sorry, i woke up late, and the little one wasn't hungry. before arriving at hotel i was having some intestinal problems, which developed into ugly problem the next day. we're talking chills, fever and the ugly intestinal thing. but only 24 hr bug and passed, and i do mean passed. hence the late report. but i''ve been happy with the little i've experimented on the menu. read the breakfast menu and it looks good. owner said it's a nice breakfast and he is pretty straight up, doesn't BS. a brit accent on breakfast, i just don't understand bake beans for breakfast instead of home fries. but it sounded tasty besides that. pretty hard for a farang to screw up breakfast. i understand his sister does the farang orders and a local does local dishes.
Accomodation Reviews
Proud to say that I have finished Mojos mega breakfast - twice in fact, even though I dint care much for that sausage slice thing, but ate it anyway.
With all that fruit juice coffee and water - as well as the food too, sure does fill one up. And I'm not the largest guy really - but I do like my food![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

I saw your review about Top Mansion and I have some questions 4 u :
1. How are the rooms vs. City Lodge ?
2 .Do they have special price for 1 week staying or more ?
3. Girls friendly ?
Thanks.

top mansion is good inexpensive room. they have week and monthly rates. city lodge, never statyed there, but couple forumites have and describe it as being nice. rooms start at 500, book early as i have tried a couple times, without success, then go up from there, most expensive 900, i think. from what i understand comfy rooms w/internet and amenities. pics on website look nice. i won't pay too much for room in udon as i live just out of town. just don't like to drink and drive so i stay 500 or less, unless on a splurge (only 850) like the other day at irish clock, which i plan on spoiling myself some more plus there is breakfast, no tuk tuk necessary and that tiger on tap is nice. top mansione is basic accomodations and the bed is firm. i've stayed there a few times, alcohol assisted sleep, so it really didn't matter. stayed there last time w/daughter, no assisted sleep, lets just say, firm. but at 290, a bargain if wanting to cut cost, clean and safe and guest friendly. both have pics of rooms on website, both i believe are accurate. i posted some on here for irish clock if that interest you also. karin hotel is nice option also, 400 baht is bargain, book early, 600 baht rooms are much nicer. but little further from town center which require tuk tuk for, at least on return trip for me, and thai rice soup for breakfast. so far my choices would be irish clock, top mansion if clock not available for overnighter of heavy drinking, karin if just me and kid, no drinking, again if irish clock not available. except for monthly meetings, it's spur of the moment and sometimes hard to find cheaper rooms, and if i'm going to drink at irish clock anyway, that takes hassle and thought out of it. i don't go to often so the added expense for comfort is minimal. irish clock i believe is guest friendly as there is a side door as opposed to main entrance to restaurant/bar area. city lodge i believe is not guest friendly, i may be wrong. hopefully someone whos stayed there will chime in on that. after irish clock, karin, i would choose nb residance or thomas resort, both comfy. 500 baht. just my personal preference based on convenience, comfort and total expenditure of added breakfast and added tuk tuk charges. which is why i think i like the irish clock. trying to be as unbias as possible, it's hard, lol. enjoy.
Have stayed in City Lodge both trips to Udon, called 2-3 days ahead for reservation both times. Guest Friendly if you book as a double, same as many places. They have a friendly crew, breakfast included, newly refurbished comfortable rooms. Not too far a stagger from the main farang waterholes, and their bar is open all night to residents.
