I believe that this is their phone number BL.
089-861-6237

Probably best to contact them direct as I do not think they have a large number of rooms & many of the guests are long term stayers, so not too many vacancies either....

The 'quality' hotels (The Grand & Prajaktra Design Hotel) have what they call 'Junior Suites' which are two bedroom affairs.
Bit on the expensive side though, even with deals...Not sure if The President does as well, but worth a look.
The Grand is still a bit of a building site immediately outside & will be for at least until end of March, I think. It would be difficult to be more central though.
Prajaktra is a nice area to be in. Just about everything except a load of bars in the immediate area & plenty of room for the kids to run off some energy in the Park & some nice eateries in walking distance.

Not sure what the resorts on the edge of town could do for you, but worth dropping English Retreat & BB Villa a line & ask what they can do. I do think having your own transport is pretty essential though if you are going for a resort...Most of them do have the added advantage of a pool for the kids though...

Recently, Glynn of The Englishmans Retreat Guesthouse, (0845 125 025), was advertising that his small flatlet in the guesthouse, had become vacant. Very well priced; with reasonbly priced food and swimming pool and Gym, it just might suit, even though.like the Kinnaree, is a little out of the CBD. Might be worh considering?
And, NO!, I am neither connected to, or a particular friend of ,Glynn's - just an intended helpful suggestion.

I did suggest it BL, I think it is actually called BB Villa now... :D :D

Long time since I have been out there but it was a nice place then.
Large pool, including a child friendly area, nice gym & tennis courts that were never used... a pity.

I understand that the history of the place was that houses were built around it as a 'base' for Americans that used to work at the radio site near Bandung. The staff used to be bussed out to work daily but they had brought their families with them to live. The original BB was set up as a 'club' for the American staff & their families.
Hence it was finished to a rather nice standard & still looked good a few years after it had been finished.

The apartments they have were mainly built after the event & once the radio base no longer employed quite so many people.. so I don't think you can quite expect the same sort of high standard there.
They are all single floor accommodation from memory so no danger of the kids falling off a balcony.

It is not far away from the Englishman's Retreat & like staying there I, personally, would highly recommend hiring a vehicle if you are going to stop there. Not a great deal of choice at night (except for the two mentioned) but if you just want to relax by the pool then a nice spot at a nice price - or certainly used to be a year or so ago...

Yes, I absolutely agree with Bob's comments. Can't imagine why I didn't think of BB, since I have been going there regularly for a number of years, with my wife, (in fact we were there yesterday!), to relax by the pool for the day and we always go home feeling greatly refreshed. The staff are very courteous and helpful, the food is reasonably priced and there are a variety of rooms, apartments, (and currently even a couple of furnished houses), which are properly serviced every day and for which the rates compare more than favourably with other possible places, thus enabling you to use the 'saving' to rent a vehicle.
The Englishman's Retreat is approximately 150 metres down the road from the BB entrance and, unless circumstances have changed since I last visited there, Glynn rents out vehicles at very competitive rates, and there is also a restaurant there and, again, his food and drink prices are very competitive. As I mentioned previously, there is a small pool, a gymnasium and a pool table. So also, the road at the end of the main access road has a great variety of Thai food stalls, restaurants and shops selling at Thai prices! A major consideration for me would be that BB is well away from the major and very busy & noisy main roads and does not seem to attract the more 'active' short term tourists! So a combination of BB & Englishman Retreat facilities provide, I suggest, a satisfactory and economical range of facilities for a small family. Hope this post is of help.

I rent the 2 bedroom VIP suite at the Kinnery. It is a great room with an outside area for entertaining guests. I will be going to USA for a month or two and would consider a sublease if it is ok with Aye, the owner. PM me if interested.
