Dakoda,
There is a suit which is the entire top floor, I believe - which is the 28,000 baht one.
All in all I agree with A2scott's comments. Rooms are BADLY in need of a refit if they want to justify these prices & even then I am not sure that you can jusify them in Udon. Definately the place for a 1 time visitor only - there is just such a lot of good cheaper places to stay in Udon now IMO.

When we visited Udorn the last few times we stayed here. The wife likes the sense of security she feels there. We've always reserved a suite because of our children traveling with us. Not; however, the 28,000 baht suite! The staff has been friendly and helpful. I do agree however that the prices are abit high and the rooms could stand to be updated. We are looking closely at trying different accomodations next time. The insight I've gained from you all via this site has enabled us to expand our horizons on this and many issues. Thanks you!
yep i am thinking the same of finding something elseLU wrote:When we visited Udorn the last few times we stayed here. The wife likes the sense of security she feels there. The Ban Chiang Hotel looks quite nice, it's a little further out of town but has some good facilities such as swimming pool, gym, and spa, there's even a cocktail lounge with hostesses.jopann wrote:Is there a better hotel than Charoensri in Udon?
A link to the hotel is on the accommodation page:

Seems to me that the poster was saying they didn't like staying at the Ban Chiang - yet the following two posts both recommend it to them anyway ??? confused - sure am !!!!jopann wrote:I never stayed at the Charoensri before, just the Ban Chiang. The Ban Chiang hotel is very desperately in need of an update. I plan to stay at the Charoensri next time we come. Is there a better hotel than Charoensri in Udon?
Technically, the three major hotels in town - Charoensri, Ban Chiang and the Napoli could all use some room renovations.
Last time I was at the Napoli it was getting rather run down - the pool looked like crap. The meeting rooms and conference rooms were also in need of some serious attention.

point taken. i had no choice it was the co i work for paid for this hotel. still point being i have stayed 6 times and still say it needs work done on the rooms. and the food is cold in the mornings. internet is a joke as well for wireless. and no knifes on the tables. who eats with a spoon. children. so a good hotel that needs a bit love and care.
