advice oh wise ones?

Post by The Bookhouse » April 2, 2014, 7:59 pm

i couldnt see a where to stay sub section, so i will ask here, my apologies if i missed it.

is there a general conscensus on a good quality guest house/hotel in the area? a couple i know will be popping into udon on their way to nong kai and will have their newborn in tow, so obviously i imagine quiet and hygenic would be on top of their list of requirements....and probably in the centre. any suggestions?? thanks to all who take time to answer...

You cant go far wrong with Centara in my opinion. Nice rooms, very good breakfast, good location and friendly staff.

Also they have decent baby cots and bedding available if requested. Certainly better than the cots supplied by alot of hotels.

Well the Centara is certainly central & has the added advantage of a lift it could be unnecessarily heavy on the pocket of someone with a new born..

I have never stayed, but have heard good reports...
The One Residence. 042244330 or 0823057341
www.theoneud.com Room rate is, I believe 550 baht.
Easily walkable to the Complex & has a large 7/11 & coffee shop next door.
No lift &, I believe, no rooms on the ground floor.

or

I have stayed & could not recommend it enough as value for money.
Udon Perfect. 042344454 or 042344455 or 089422858
Room rate 350 baht
Short distance through the Chinese temple to the rear entrance of the Complex.
No lift but does have ground floor rooms.

If you use the company Booking.com they currently have rooms at the Centara from 1318 baht per night, including all taxes.
Doesnt include breakfast and its on a "book now,pay now" basis.
But I would have thought this price is pretty good for a hotel of the Centara's standard.....depends what your friends budget is,I guess ?
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
