VietJet Udon-Saigon?

I'm checking daily to see whether the Vietjet Udon to Chiang Rai flights are to be extended into April and the school holidays - an excuse for a short break. A rep, whether accurate or not, advised that schedules often change early into the New Year, so it's looking unlikely now.

I appreciate it's not 100% on topic, but just to say website shows Udon to Chiang Rai flights ARE now being offered from April, but not flying every day - and the promotion fares have already gone, not cheap otherwise.

Again I'm 'drifting', but it does concern Vietjet. Actually promotion fares Udon to Chiang Rai HAVE reappeared. 300 baht the basic, but the usual add-ons for checked baggage etc. But three of us there and back with 20Kg each for under 6,000 baht seems pretty good to me.

That's 1000 Baht one way per person......sounds like a good deal to me.
My Chamber of Commerce buddy tells me Vietjet is working toward an April start for Udon to Saigon. Their website doesn't reflect it yet....probably lots of bumps to work out yet.

Those of you who live near Udon are lucky. They have flights to nearly anywhere you would like to go. Living in Loei, flights to Bangkok go the Don Muang. That's a pain getting from there to Jomtien. I'd go down a lot more often if they had flights to Utapao. From where I live, it's a 2 1/2 hour drive to Udon so no benefit there.
