Bank Accounts:

All done in 40 minutes, a USD and a Local Currency Account and the Bank APP downloaded onto my phone. With the App you can scan and pay at for just about everything you spend, i.e. purchases, restaurants and even a Tuk Tuk ride. :D :D

Only things I need to give the lady at the Bank was
1.Passport with Retirement Visa in it
2.Phone Number (Local)
3.An Address where I stay (didn't need to prove where I stayed)

Then they take a picture of your face, for future facial recognition. An added account security. Also had to sign a few form/papers, about half the number of that in a Thai Bank

All so easy \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

I recall the time some years ago when I applied for a retirement visa at Phnom Penh Airport. The officer that I spoke with was very helpful and with a good command of English.

I paid for the initial 30-day visa plus the extra for the annual visa and was told it would take a couple of days to process. He added that I could go back to the airport to collect or they were happy to bring my passport to where I was staying. I opted for the latter, and my passport was delivered to my hotel.

That’s what I call service. A multiple entry visa and no need to do anything at all until I would require an extension, a year later.

It took about 15 minutes to get a bank account, although I had to go back a week later to collect my debit card.
Similarly, it took 15 minutes to obtain a Post Office Box, whereas in Thailand it took 14 years to not obtain one!

Anyhow, I wonder how much might change in Thailand when Cambodia’s new airport at Kandal opens next year. This will be the ninth largest in the world and will compete favorably with Bangkok and Singapore for all long-haul flights.

Hospital

Todays visit was to the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital for an annual check up. They had several promotional Packages, so I bought the $164 and added a few extra tests.

Service was very professional, equal to Bangkok and all up took 100 minutes.

It finished with a 10 minute sit down with the Doctor where he went through each of the test results, for each organ, then explained the results of the EKG, Chest & Lungs X-ray, and Ultrasound of the Abdomen, explaining a few issues and detections. The Ultrasound of the Abdomen looked in detail at the Pancreas, Liver, Gallbladder, Kidneys and Prostrate. I was quite impressed with the Doctor's explanation, his answers to questions and also the written Report is very detailed .

Well worth the visit and the money.

The idea of registering at least seven days in advance is a bit of a shift, but if it smooths out entry, it might be worth the extra step. I’ll definitely check out the app and make sure everything is in place before heading to Cambodia.

Its pretty easy to navigate the e.Visa registration and It will cost $ 37 to 42 depending on the e.Visa type you want for a 30 days stay .

You only need to upload the following in the app, when registering
Upload a Photo
Copy of Passport
Copy of Flight Ticket In and Out

And input some personal details such as
Name, Birth Date
Email Address
Passport info
Overseas Residential Address
Address during the Visit (I just gave them an Apartment address in PP)
Intended Date of Entry
Port of Entry
Purpose (Visit Friends)

Once done and paid for you will receive a confirmation response email and then another email in 48 hours with your e.Visa attached to it. I do it on Day 6
