Eva Air
Eva Air are about £100 cheaper for the London Bangkok run than Thai Airways.
Anyone flown with Eva?
Good, bad, or average?

Thanks Guys,
I've just got convince her to try another carrier.
She thinks anything Thai is number one, including the airline.
OK, Thai Airlines are not bad, but the planes on the London Bangkok run are showing their age, especially the in flight entertainment, the seats and the kharzi's. It won't be long before these crates will look the same as the infamous Phuket Airlines. It's a lot extra just for 30kg allowance. All for a premium price.

Prenders, there have been several previous threads about EVA, if you can find them, and they got good reviews each time.
I have flown with them several times and would recommend them (usually Evergreen deluxe/Elite class) and they now usually use B777's on the London route. Be aware they don't fly every day and therefore have less flights than Thai and can get booked up more quickly.

Go for it!
I moved from Northwest business class to EVA Evergreeen Deluxe a couple of years ago (yes, as airfare increases, those of us on limited income have to adapt), and although Evergreen Deluxe is not quite business class, for an overweight old guy, Evergreen Deluxe is a very pleasant way to fly over the Pacific.
Unless significant changes take place, EVA will remain my airline of choice.
Eva has their shortcomings, but they seem to be able to deliver pretty good value. As I said, "Go fo it!" before your GF changes her mind.

Hello Prenders88,
I agree, have flown them many times.
Evergreen Deluxe is midway between Econo & full Business class.
It's the best deal...
Full business is located up in the hump of the 747, only about 18 seats, or so, and very nice, but a bit costly as they all are.
Search well for best price for upgrade from Econo.
Make sure you don't get stuck with their overnight in Taipei.
Beyond that, I'd say, go for it!
Good luck...

Alrighty then..
Headin' home soon!
Just bought my ticket on EVA.
Elite Class on the way over to ROC ( 777) then the Evergreen Deluxe on ROC to BK ( 747 )
I have read the few descriptions of this Evergreen Deluxe class, but what or how does it differ from business class...besides about 3,000USD ?
I flew business class last time over on Singapore Airlines and I tell ya I was spoiled rotten. They greeted me with "Hello Mr. Maligator" and continued until I requested them to stop, so then they started calling me "Mr. Mal ".
Wine, food and more wine, food, coffee, more wine and I even had a fold out bed. SWEET.
But anyway...
Is it nice or just a hyped up "steerage class"??
Boots on the ground soon...very soon.
I can hardly wait to get outta here...friggin cold now.

USD3,000 ?!?!?!?!?!
That doesn't sound right. I have flown Evergreen Deluxe from LHR to BKK and the difference there is about USD400 between Deluxe and Economy. I know you're not flying that route, but one of the ideas behind Deluxe (Premium Economy) is to offer a little more for a little more.
Time of year I guess
The only 2 reasons I fly it are because of the seat - 1). much more legroom, 2). it's "individual", i.e. the seat next is separated by a solid armrest which is quite wide as opposed to just a fold up/down armrest where legs can touch underneath it.
Entertainment and food have always been adequate for my liking and I will always try to use EVA's Deluxe class if I can't afford the next level up.

Sorry 'bout that.USD3,000 ?!?!?!?!?!

I was comparing the difference in cost between ED/Elite and "primer laural" (sp) which is the business class.
I paid 300USD more than economy on this one, LAX-TPE-BKK.
I have never flown on EVA, always either Singapore or China and was wondering on what is the difference between cabins.
