Rent a car long term in Udon

Post by munsve » March 7, 2008, 7:29 am

I see many people talk about Lek (I used them last time), Avis and Budget. But at a price of 1,000 bath per day it's a bit high for me. Is there nowhere to rent a car for 500 or less? Insurance included.

yikes, when comes to car rental, you usually get what you pay for. unless going long distance, rent motorbike. 150-200 a day, less long term

How long are you thinking of renting for? Some places will have a sliding scale and decrease the longer you rent but having said that they may only go down to between 700-800 Baht per day. Also the insurance in some of these places is questionable. I think the word scary was used recently and it scared me when I read the terms and conditions and hastily left. When needed and until I buy my own I'll rent from Lek... I don't mind paying that bit extra for peace of mind.

Mr Glyn @ englishmans retreat has a vehicle that goes down to 630baht a day (long term 60 days +) on his web site, but can't really see someone doing for under 500 baht inc good insurance...would hardly seem worth it.

Look in the clasiffed section of the Bangkok post. Avis runs monthly deals. You have to book through the call center.
