There is one near to tescos on the same side of the road if you came out of Tesco's and Turned left as you have to when you come out of the carpark carry on up the road a little and there is a " Thai Airways " cargo sign also a Nok Air sign they are booking agents and have another shop in town which maybe more geared up for the tours etc, sorry can't think of the name right now or the road that the other shop is on,used them lots of times over the years.

Thanks a lot, guys.

She tried online, but it appears that every moderately-priced hotel is either all booked up or does not have enough rooms, so maybe the solution is for her to sit down with a professional and see if they can scare up enough rooms for her.

I appreciate all of the input, as we were almost at the end of our rope.

I travel extensively world wide with my company and last week got a phone call to say, im required in Dubai ASAP and also in Paris for a meeting. As i cant fly from Dubai to Paris with Thai airways ( my preferrred airline ) i had to use a travel agent to get the ticketing done. Went into Complex and gave the proposed itinerary to the travel agent there and sat and had a coffee while they worked on it.

3 coffee's later i got told they cant do it and they sugegsted i book the leg from Dubai to Paris, once i got to Dubai as its expensive.

Back to Thai airways for some advice ( its a friday afternoon ) and they then called The Thep Chareon Travel agency which they are affilicated with and the next 45 mins i was prebooked.

Sat Morning off to actually get the ticket information from Thep Chareon and the way they did the ticketing was fantastic. It actually saved me over $4000.

By booking return tkts ( BKK- Dubai ) and ( Dubai - Paris ) instead of one way sectors. Booking out of the country u depart from also puts the price up when ur looking at sector issues, unless u book online etc.

The Thep guys were fantastic and extremely professional , their Englisg skills are 2nd to none and would recommend them to anyone.

Never ever ever to this day have Thai Airways been cheap on line, for the past 4 years I go online to book Brisbane/ BKK with Thai, and always the price has been between 8000 to 10000B dearer than the travel agent can do it for same flight same day, so now I never bother to to book with Thai on line

Are you a member of Thai's Orchid Plus frequent flier programme, Aussieboy? We are, and regularly book Melbourne/Udon return and find fares equal to cheapest travel agent's fare and excellent personal service from their office staff. We are also surprised at how quickly the points qualify us for free tickets.

Aussie Boy is right! Thai Airways Internet prices are a joke! I stopped looking for them years back. And its more or less the same with other, "traditional" airlines homepages.
After reading the last comment from Miyoko, maybe a frequent traveller on TG got better prices I checked.
Singapore - Bangkok in december 763 SGD.
Air Asia charge 164 SGD!
And I got ROP Gold Card on TG!

Good night.

Aussie boy is right Thai Airways is a rip off. I can get is cheaper through a travel agent and save up to 2 to 3 hundred dollars and that is with travel insurance

If you ring Thai or a travel agent, they will tell you the "cheap" periods (when the kids are fully back at school), the "shoulder" periods just before or just after the school holidays when the fares are a little more expensive, and the "impossibly expensive periods" Christmas, New Year Thai New Year, Easter Sonkran and other school holidays, then choose your itinerary within your chosen dates and compare Thai with the travel agent for those dates. The key is to try to plan your trip in the cheap period or the shoulder period and then compare Thai with the travel agents for those dates. Yes Royal Thai Orchid is for relatively frequent fliers but 45,000kms equals one free return ticket. I chuck in my American Express points and I fly Thai to Japan and to Laos to build up the points. For anyone with Thai young family members traveling, TG have special cheap fares for Thai students.
