Phuket recommendations

Post by Charlieb » September 27, 2017, 2:53 pm

Wife wants to go to Phuket for a few days of R&R probably mid-October. Will be taking my grown daughter as well.

Looking for recommendations. Prefer right on the beach resort/hotel. A 2 BR suite would be nice or at least connecting rooms.

I am not looking for 500 Baht per night and don't mind a higher price for something nice. I also am not looking for 5000 Baht per night. :D

Any help? I would appreciate direct contact with resort/hotel - web site, etc. - rather than agency.

I have previously stayed at The Andaman Hotel it is virtually right on the beach an older stylish hotel but very good very clean with great service price you would have to check I would recommend it set on large landscaped grounds two pools walk across the road and you are on the beach, has full amenities.

Few years back on my only stay in Phuket was in the holiday inn.
Across the road from Patong beach, just far enough away from the bar and restaurant street to make it a pleasant walk there and not to far if you have a wobbly boot on coming home.
Nice internal restaurants and bars.
Try for the higher level room 2nd floor.
Good pool.

I would like to modify my request. I did not realize there were so many beaches and different areas in Phuket
Where is the best place to stay and still be within reasonable distance to shopping, restaurants, etc.? I don't want to be stranded out in the boondocks :-) That happened to me once in Hawaii.

There are 2 major shopping malls in Phuket, Jungceylon in Patong Beach and Central Festival located in central Phuket if that's what you are looking for.

Patong for some r+r,it's ok for rape and a rumble.central festival is a near on copy of central plaza and a bit of a hike from the beaches with the traffic down there.best stay karon, kata with some shops in kata and a good market on Karon beach road.if he gets a scooter there a nice beach road from kata noi to rawai with some nice viewpoints along the way and some nice seafood restaurants in nai harn, rawai.
