Travel Agents

Post by Kudjap or Bust » May 15, 2007, 10:53 am

Are there any travel agents in Udon that can book Tiger Air flights?

Their online booking doesn't accept debit cards and my credit cards are rejected, they tell me there's a problem with their system..

Before anyone says it I won't give credit card details over the phone....

I would suspect that any travel agent that books Singapore Airlines would be able to do the same for Tiger - since they are associated with them.

As for good travel agents vs. bad travel agents - my experience has been that it is not the travel agency itself that is in question - it is the individual that you are dealing with. Always double check the booking before you leave their office.

Most of the agencies have people that speak English. I have used the one on the same street as Mr. Tongs - right across from Robinsons with good success. I have also used the one that is on the major corner down from the bus station.

Doc, Do you mean the shop on the corner of the street leading to the Complex ?I've actually had a bad experience with the shop opposite the Complex trying to book a Thai Air flight for the TW. We finally had it sorted out by the small booth inside the Copmplex

Yes - that one. The street leading to the Complex. Down by Psori Road - at the 3 way intersection.

As for the bad experience. Sorry to hear about the problem. I had good experiences there - but that could be because I was dealing with one of my students. Again, typically, it is the individual agent rather than the agency itself.

In resolving complaints and problems here in Thailand - I have found that communication problems are the primary reason that things are not resolved to our satisfaction. :?

Doc, if you mean the agency on the corner of Phosi and Tikkattanon then I also have had good service there even to the extent of being able to pay, with a credit card, flights that I have booked with Qantas or BA on the phone in BKK. Qantas and BA will not accept credit card payment over the phone in Thailand so the agency saved a trip to BKK to pay. All they charged was the normal Thai 3% approx credit card charge rip off.

Went to the travel shop on the corner this afternon, everything worked out well, the lady there spoke good English which helped although I took the wife with me in case. The lady there even told me I could get the flight cheaper if I booked online....WOW... I explained as I have stated above about the card..

Very nice experience, and a shop I would recommend.

Thanks Doc

Do Tiger Airways not have a desk at Udon Airport? I was having the same problems booking online as Kudjap. I asked the Gf to go to the Airport to book :? Oh well the exercise will do her good!

No there's no Tiger Air desk at the airport. I went over there yesterday morning.

From their website:

Ticket counters at airports: Tiger Airways currently operates nine ticket counters located in Singapore, Macau, Clark, Guangzhou, Haikou, Shenzhen, Ho Chi Minh, Padang, and Phuket airports (for same day travel ticket sales).

Thanks Kudjap,

looks like we will be using the same travel agents as you! :D

Hope Tiger get their online system sorted. Maybe they have the same system that Nok had?
