New Fast Track Area at Suvarnabhumi Departures

Post by jackspratt » November 1, 2023, 1:50 pm

I noticed a new (to me) area at the rear of check-in counter A/B (ie to the far left on Level 4) which can be used for several categories of outward passengers, including those over 70.

I wish I had known about it 4 weeks ago, when I was presented with a clusterf*kc when departing through the normal channels in the middle of the day.

Here is a report on the new area, which is not very glowing, so YMMV.

Has anyone used it yet?

I’ve used it twice this year. Nice and fast and no f@cking stairs to climb. Only issue was to get a walking stick to support me through the body scanner.
Don’t worry about tomorrow. Today is terrifying enough.
I never forget a face, but in your case I can do an exception.

There is a fast track area for incoming passengers too, and is a time saver.

The guy gurning on that loyaltylobby report sounds like someone who:
A ) Hadn't even tried it, or
B ) Doesn't like being in Thailand (you know who you are), or
C ) Probably doesn't qualify anyway.

How many times in my mega-million airmiles have I been delayed at an airport by cabin crew? Only once when Continental had a multiple-technical on a IAH-GIG flight that, once resolved, they announced that some of the aircrew had maxed out their permitted hours.

Thanks for that.

I think you can get a folding/collapsible cabin-friendly walking stick on lazada. I have a telescopic one that I bought a few years back for my Myanmar 'hill walking'. I pack it for air travel and it's come in handy a couple of times when airport check-in/security was a bit mobbed.
