To Bkk via Seoul

Post by Mobaan » November 20, 2007, 9:15 pm

I have lousy connection this time ,requiring a 9 hour layover in Seoul. What is there to spend the time ?
Is it possible to get a visa on arrival (EU Passport) for a tour of the town . Has anybody ever done that ?
Failing that ,is there something to do at the airport itself ?

Check out the Inchon Airport website. ( http://www.airport.or.kr/eng/airport/ ) There are various tours you can take ( http://transit.freedom.co.kr/ ) depending on the amount of time you have at the airport. EU passport holders do not require a visa to enter Korea. They also have rooms in the terminal you can rent if you want to shower and rest up. Or if you just want a shower and massage, they have that, too.

Inchon Airport is everything that BKK wanted to be, but didn't have the imagination to come up with...

Hi,

I had the (dis)pleasure to be based in Korea for 2 years - The immediate area around Incheon is pretty sparse - Incheon City is close by, but limited in things to do - you can get to Seoul city centre in 30/40 minutes - recommend going up to the Namsan Tower - great view. Itaewon is where all the expats and US serviceman hang out - so I'd avoid there.
