Not to sure about public transport to Nong Khai, last time I visited I drove taking about 45 minutes or so. Pretty sure there is a bus service there at least hourly.

Nakhon Phanom is served by buses from the main bus station in Udon Thani. Although a couple of years since I used this service, they leave at least every hour during the day. Price then was about 105 baht if I remember correctly. The journey takes anything from four to five and a half hours, try to avoid the buses which will pick up school kids after school. They are dangerously overloaded and very cramped.

Sorry don't have any up to date infomation, but have my own transport now.

Best Regards
Conrad

There are buses on an hourly basis from Udon to Nong Khai, which about a year ago cost 40 baht each way and took almost an hour. Some AC buses go from the main central bus station and other slower buses go from the bus station out by the Ring Road.

Hope that helps.

Thanks arjay, that is most helpful, what are the chances of sitting next to a pretty thai girl on the bus similar to the one displayed on your profile?
