Wattana Hospital

Post by Isaanman » May 19, 2012, 2:29 pm

Friday evening I went to the emergency room at Wattana Hospital. I had a big lump in the middle of my back and it was infected. The wife handed them my Thai Driver's License and my military retirement ID. I was then sent into the emergency room where a doctor and 2 nurses attended to the lump. Doctor said that is was a fatty tissue that has grown under the skin. She later said that it was very large and deep. After about 45 mins to an hour, she was done. I was told to return today, which I did, Sunday and Monday for cleaning of the open wound. The wound is a bout 3 cm in diameter, was left open for the cleanings, with a bandage to keep out dirt. I will find out what will be done on Monday after all this.

The whole time I was there, I was not asked for a deposit of any size. Friday I paid about 3700 baht, plus meds and little over 400 baht for the cleaning and new bandage today.

This is the 3rd time I have used Wattanna Hospital and I have had good experience with them each time. Got all the documents and reciepts needed for my claim with TRICARE. I did go to AEK, but for some reason we ended up at Wattana. AEK didn't ask for a deposit either at the time I was there. AEK did say that people coverd by TRICARE now had to submit the claims themselves, either to Bangkok (JUSMACTHAI) or directly to Wisconsin.

But like always, people have different experiences, so this is what I have been expereincing with Wattana.

I have very good experience with Wattana too, last I used it was in may after an stupid MC accident where I got a broken collarbone and a dislocated left shoulder + 2 ribs. x-ray, bandage and painkillers was 3800, all together. when I arrived I gave my green wattana card and I was gently seated in an rollerchair to emergengy (it was 19:30) and after a doctor has careful examined me, and asked several question about the accident I was finished at around 21:00 with a bandaage around my shoulder to keep the collarbone in place and my shoulder was relocated again, very painful by the way. I should keep the bandage on in 3 weeks and then come again for a checkup. Everything was ok and I was happy, but my friends, broken ribs is absolutely NO FUN, it hurts when you laugh, cough, sleep, moving fast, going to loo, doing the fun even when you wife is helping you. Morale, look up for street dogs, carry a fully loaded 9mm and take them down befor they are trying to cross your lane
