FWIW, the Express has been on the 'everything you eat will eventually kill you' binge of late with their links to doom and gloom infesting more and more inboxes and browser adverts. England, nay.... Great Britain, nay.... The British Empire was built on processed meats, sausages, puddings, pies and bacon.

Eat sensibly, exercise regularly, die anyway. And bugger that garlic nonsense unless you want to smell like a Frenchie while you're still alive.

One might want to take care of somebody for months who is dying from cancer, a slow and agonizing death I'd say. Then they might think differently on the matter. I'd rather go quietly in my sleep one day.

Believe me , if i was suffering from cancer and the pain got too much or i was totally reliant on another . I would go quietly in my sleep . Guarenteed . No point in my book living a longer life if you have no quality of life .

I hear you, unfortunately it is illegal in most places. I've heard of women being tossed in the clinker for self-abortion attempts, but never heard of anybody getting tossed in for attempting to off themselves. These days with the religious zealots about though, it would not surprise me.

Eat what you want within reason, enjoy yourself and spend a few pennies when you get to 50. Although I agree with slowing down on your intake volume of meat products, as you get older and increasing your intake of fiber.

It is recommended that you start your Colon cancer screening around the age of 50 with a colonoscopy.

I stared at 54 and they found no signs or adenomas or polyps, so they advised me to come back in 8 - 10 years. Doc said that Bowel Cancers was one of the slowest growing cancers, so if the signs are good each time you have your regular check up (i.e. your colonoscopy), they will catch it, in time to treat.

Move forward, eight years (now 62 years old) and time for another one. All clear again and Doc said, see you in
5-7 years time.

If when they do you your colonoscopy, they find one or two small, low-risk adenomas, they will probably ask you to come back for another in 3- 5 years instead of ten.

What is, spending few pennies every 5 to 10 years, after you reach 55 for "Peace of Mind". Not doing it, is a bit like being run over by a slow moving bus in your later years of life.

I see now that despite all the cancer scares about processed meats , bacon and eggs are a better breakfast than most cerials ! Apparently if its cooked healthily , grill the bacon , and poached or hard boil the eggs , then it releases the carbs slower than cerials , so you stay fuller for nearly twice as long .
No more mid morning snacking , no more fatigue before lunch , ect .
They reckon that the benefits of this for you weight and digestive system far out way any increase in cancer risk .
