Diabetes: Accu-Chek Active Test Strips

i am buying test trips for some years via Lazada.
in the last few months I've seen a significant price increase.
since i need them on a daily basis the costs start to matter.

lazada: 25 strips range between 430 - 490 THB, so one strip almost 20 THB.

so i am wondering where you guys out there buy your accu-chek active test strips and at what price.

A company has come up with a scanner that you can use to do the blood test so that you won't need the strips anymore. I just heard it advertised on the radio a few days ago but know nothing about it. Maybe something can be found via google. One of the reasons I have not retired to Thailand yet is the cost of diabetes medication.

hi sam, shopee's english is limited so i am using it as it is , sometimes opening on chrome or copy/ paste in google translate when i can not follow ...
i am surely not a specialist on diabetes , but yes there are a few needle free check tests ...look here

but as of now they are not so accurate as real blood tests and are also still quite expensive.
maybe in the long run it's cheaper - as long as you don't have to replace the device after 3-4 years.

Hi Samuel,

I recently bought the Accu-Chek Performa from a Pharmacy.

It came in a small Black Carry (Perfoma + Softclix, with a dozen or so Lancets & test strips). Plus another box of 100 x Lancets + 100 x Test Strips. All up cost B3,400

In answer to your question, I asked how much, just for the Test Strips by themselves and the Pharmacy quoted B1,340 for a box of 100 No. So that around B 13.4, per test strip.

since my wife is using the accu-chek-active device, we need to buy the accu-chek-active stripes.
prices vary very much on a daily bases on lazada.

meanwhile i switched to buy them at the pharmacy shop at the ring road crossing "global house / sam prao".
25 stipes for 400 THB = 16 THB.
still a little bit cheaper as on lazada.

I have several of the accu-check versions because often found package deals that come with strips. I order from eBay and Lazada. Most often shipped from Korea, sometimes India. Whenever the price is good I'll buy a lot of them.

i,m new to this blood testing and have now found out that the test strips come in different styles and sizes depending on the machine you have , i just bought 50 test strips and needles from lazada but they dont fit in my original tester , luckily they came with a new reader , so you need to be carful when ordering ..
