I'm not doubting about being "guilty" , hormone replacement therapy for 15 years does effect certain parts of the body....

Who have experience with fertility clinics in our area?
It for sure will cost quite a bit. Rough indication??
Anyone have experience with clinics in Laos?

DM has done his bit for the planet but my brother successfully used a clinic in Chang Mai province and i recall him being very impressed on both service and price when compared to other places (Bkk / Europe) ...if that area is ok i will get the details from him and post them later today.

See no jokes about firing blanks or anything ..

Udon Thani isn't the world capital, and we aren't stuck here.

(Now a bit due COVID, that will hopefully pass)

Say roughly a 1000 km radius is OK.
Travel in Asia is cheap and you don't need to stay weeks and weeks for observation.

Make it a nice combination with a Holliday

Hi sorry i forgot to post what my brother informed.

His experience was 10 yrs ago .. Dr Tiroporn at a clinic in Chang mai tho the same Doctor does have a clinic in Bkk also... i did ask for the clinic name , i will remi d my brother to see if he still.has it.

He paid circa 3000 pounds sterling which covered first conceltation , treatrment, monitoring until pregancy was confirmed then scans etc.

Suffice to say my brother has a 10 yr old son n was very happy with everything

Btw .. there is an IVF clinic in the center of Udon .. (soi pet food shop / Jamnusorn Rd) that runs from Wattanapong rd through to Prajak rd, coming from Wattanapong its half way down on the right hand side.

i cannot comment on any of the procedures but obviously you will have to fill a test tube at some point (jam jar for English patients) .... find a location your happy with and have the first consultation and take it from there... im guessing the sperm donation and testing of your partner will be step one after you have signed up and paid ..

10 years ago IVF treatment in the UK was circa 15k STERLING .. hence my brother doing it here in Chang Mai paid 3k .. but times change and that was a long time ago...btw he did say he paid in 3 stages not all in one go.

Some updates on de old post

Sperm test done and indeed... Shooting blanks, absolutely no movement.

I stopped with the HRT, and started using proviron and HCG.

While in Europe i would have visited a doctor's office, my experience in Thailand is that doctors mostly see a walking and talking ATM.

It's not rocket science and 95% of all clinics will do this as treatment to get the boys started again.

We did went to a clinic "gifted" who like to get 400k
That would not cover my meds...
That would be an other 20k per month extra.
Estimated "recovery path" for the boys 9 to 18 months.

Internet/ China/ India and local pharmacy are willing and able to provide the same meds for a fraction.

I really don't mind spending some money, I do mind when I'm taken advantage of. Enough meds for 1.5 year costed me 50k, instead of 360k

After 9 months some of the swimmers are swimming again and IVF is possible.

It's a few months later now, no need to test frequently.

Sadly, most Thai clinics keep their cards close to their chest and will only provide some pricing when you are there.
And obviously ask money for the "Consult"...

It's not rocket science, medicine seem to be the most expensive part.

I did some research (something everyone should do) and found that the medicine aren't made in Thailand but mainly in India.
Western meds are possible, for additional fee.

This made me look at the possibilities in India.
Apparently succes rates are similar.
Not really a surprise as they use the same medicine and same techniques.
Price on te other hand is about a third, that does include a 4 week stay and flight (or 2 shorter stay and double flight) (for a couple)

400k, $11.500... that's a lot.
Even most places in Europe are cheaper.
