Wholesaler in Udon

Does anyone know of a medical supplies wholesaler on the ringroad close to Global House.

Wife needs a constant supply of a certain med and her friend mentioned this place but didn't know exactly where it is. She mentioned a lot of pharmacies in Udon buy stock from them..

I asked the friend if she meant Forte but she says no its definitely near Global...

Any ideas..

The good lady tells me Forte doesn't stock this med she needs, but I'm pretty sure they'd have an alternative.. but she wants to find as prescribed if possible..

that's the place. I buy all my Meds there and have done so for over 8 years. Pharmacist speaks English. Helpers read English so just write up a list of what you want. When you enter just give it to the helper and wait... The only downside to this place is the lack of parking..

Thank you very much… I see, from Google street view, a couple of medicalish signs on the front… I’ll have the good wife have a read and have a search for Thanapol…. Looks like a trip to the big city coming up. Thanks again…

My one question, does the building have air conditioning as a lot of meds can become ineffective or just turn bad if exposed to high heat for extended time.

I'm pretty sure it does have A/C. I've only been there once some time ago and didn't specifically look for AirCon but I think I would have noticed if it didn't have it as I would have been sweating while waiting in the queue

A family member drove the wife to this location and indeed this is the place. She said the staff were very helpful and she got the med she was after… she also bought a box, 3+ months supply, of my statin meds, but I am sceptical, I pay locally 740bht for a box of 10 strips of 10 pills…. She bought the identical box, pills look the same but she only paid 160 bht…. That’s a huge mark up…

Being a satisfied customer of Thanapol Pharmacy for both gout and hypertension meds, I would be more sceptical of your local THB740 pharmacy, Chriss.

Sounds like they are ripping you off, as I found was the case with the pharmacy opposite Krungthai Bank near the Ban Huay market.

I would usually agree with you but a box is pretty much the same price here in the three individual pharmacies I asked… maybe that is the kind of mark up pharmacies have set…

I use Thanapol. 160 baht for Statins does seem cheap. Depends on the type of Statin. I buy Atorvastatin and usually 550 baht I think. Thanapol usually cheapest for most meds.

Rick, how many day supply is the 160 baht cost.

Not use the 160 baht statin, I am on the 550 baht one, Atorvastatin Sandoz. That is 30 tablets, 10 mg dose.
