I developed stomach pain and suffered for about a month even waking up in the middle of the night to take a swallow of antacid. I Googled many articles and found that chewing on raw ginger helped the most. I also read a lot about apple cider vinegar. I finally bought a bottle of the recommended Bragg brand. I started taking a tablespoon mixed with water twice a day. I now suffer NO more stomach aches. If you have stomach problems, try this method and see if I eliminates your problem. No more antacids or tums. I have a difficult time thinking that this simple thing eliminated my problem but it definitely works. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
ADDED, my Thai wife says that vinegar would make things worse. She says that I was stupid to drink that stuff. Of course she knows everything.

Re: Stomach problems
Make sure you drink water after, as the vinegar will attack the enamel of your teeth
Re: Stomach problems
Very good point. I find it's best taken diluted. The sweetness of the locally packaged tomato juice makes both the apple cider vinegar and the tomato juice far more pallatable.

Re: Stomach problems
You can also make it taste better by adding a little honey. The honey won't decrease its effectiveness.
Re: Stomach problems
The vinegar came with a small plastic packet of pink salt. I add a pinch of the salt and dilute the vinegar with about 6 to one of water and then rinse my mouth out with water. I have not tried adding honey. It is not a pleasant drink and drinking the mixture through a straw also helps. It is a small taste problem but well worth it to be rid of the stomach pain. I am now a firm believer. I no longer chew on the raw ginger. Chewing on the spicy raw ginger is also not pleasant but it did help.
Re: Stomach problems
sounds like you had Gastro-Esophogeal Refulx Disease (GERD).. If you suffered with it for a month it could be you have a variety of stomach issues that your home remedy may be masking.. From a possible ulcer, to a faulty hiatus valve (that's me). I'd say follow up with a Doc...
