Cataract package AEK

Post by bumper » May 24, 2017, 5:36 pm

until the end of the year AEK will do all aspects needed for cataract surgery till the end of this year. This means for a standard lens. Me I have stigminatism in both eyes and standard lens will not work. They are more expensive. They are careful in what they do and very helpful with forms.

This is the same price I was given at the Army Hospital. I will stay one night in the hospital. Army would have been two.

Just waiting to get scheduled now.

If my insurance would cover it I would have had it done at Bangkok Hospital. The cost there starts at 200K so an easy decision

My understanding normal lens you still have to wear glasses. Personally I'm tired of wearing them. I will still need them for reading. You can have lens that will take care of that as well. I didn.t want them.

I went to a small clinic where standard lens first eye was 30K second 20K

Military hospital again standard lens 30K I assume for each eye and two day stay at the hospital private room 800K a day. I have to say they did examination of any place I went. I would still have to wear glasses.

AEK 30K each eye normal lens one night stay in hospital. It and Bangkok Hospital Were the only two to mention corrective lens. Bangkok Hospital is much more expensive. All the places I went were good .

AEK just fir my needs best.

Good Luck

About 10 years ago, I had the Crystalens implants done in the USA. One of the best decisions I have ever made!

At the time I was wearing trifocal glasses. The Dr. told me if I had laser surgery I would still need glasses to read. I did not want that.

It was not cheap - $5,000 per eye - total $10,000

Since that time I have not needed glasses of any sort. I do note now that I am getting a bit older if the print is really tiny, like on the side of some medicine bottles, reading glasses help. But it is rare to need them.

It does take a bit of time and effort, post surgery, to retrain your eyes to focus near and far but that was not that difficult.

A good extra benefit is I will never need cataract surgery

I don't know what sort of implants are done in Thailand or how good the eye doctors are but for me it was great.

You can get D all the above in Thailand, if you are willing to pay for it. Me I don't read that much so having to have glasses tp read. You can get the lens for that at Bangkok Hospital or AEK. They have been very kind to me.

The Dr. was a good really sit up well. The down side you have to pay upfront. Since the surgery isn't covered by my health insurance , not an issue this time.
