Re: Ron Davis. RIP
'Tea bag Ron'. The name I new him by for over 10 years , was very much part of the Udon ex pat scene. His visits to town became less frequent recently due to his declining mobility, but whenever we met, a lively chat was always forthcoming. He will certainly be missed. Condolences to his family.

Very sad news. Lovely man. Rest in Peace Ron.
Re: Ron Davis. RIP
Terribly sad news. One of the first people I met in Udon when I arrived. Played for my pool team (as well as others) and was always good company. I have been away from Udon for a while, but he still kept in touch. Such a loss to all that knew him. A real Gent. RIP Ron.

To anyone still not too sure as to the whereabouts of the temple. Go to the main road which leads to both The Kinnaree, (off to the left), and to the President Hotel, (off to the right). The temple is to be found on the right hand side, near to Dan Mak Kan School, ( sorry, not sure of the spelling).

Re: Ron Davis. RIP
Well that was disappointing. Myself and others unable to find the Wat.
Re: Ron Davis. RIP
Galee , same , same i could,nt even find the " poly collage or school "
Re: Ron Davis. RIP
I used the map Bob Helm posted then looked on google maps for a online version.
Had no problem finding the Temple it was where Bob Helms map said it was.
Anyway Ron had a good send off attended by about 25 falang friends.

If you wont say it Timmy, I will. The directions from Bob Helm were not helpful.timmy wrote: ↑October 15, 2017, 6:54 pmi never said or implied there was anything wrong with Bob,s map .... but i was on my bike so no satnav , i dont speak

1. He did not name the Wat. The photo of a plaque on the wall was useless. This is an English speaking forum. Not Thai.
2. Two different map co-ordinates. Click on the link for the second one and it pin points a private house no where near a Wat.
3. Mats post naming the Wat was more helpful but unfortunately posted to late for those of us who do not log on every 5 minutes.

It is highlighted in red Wat Thip Santiwan.

Re: Ron Davis. RIP
It's not highlighted in red if you click on the link above the map. The link above the map included co-ordinates to some where else. As no Wat name was mentioned it came down to guess work. Time for Mr Helm to explain.pal52 wrote: ↑October 16, 2017, 10:03 amThe name of the Wat is on the map Bob posted.Galee wrote: ↑October 16, 2017, 7:38 amIf you wont say it Timmy, I will. Re: Ron Davis. RIP
Exactly what is to explain Galee, it is exactly as pal52 stated..
If you did not understand the map then the sensible time to say that was surely before the event, not after??- Galee

Re: Ron Davis. RIP
What was the link above the map for?
Re: Ron Davis. RIP
That is the output from the smart phone App HereIam2 when standing in the wat.
I provided as much data as I could, given the limited time available to me from being told when the service would be held to the actual service.
Frankly, after going to quite a bit of effort to provide as much information as possible I am disappointed that you seem to be blaming me for your inability to find the site.
A simple question before the event from you would have bought clarification..
