One of the longtime posters. Rest in Peace.

Re: Ray Fisher AKA Bumper RIP
So sad to hear of Ray's passing. He was one of a very few members of this forum I ever communicated with directly. I enjoyed the videos he would post of his motorcycle rides around the country. My condolences to Ray's wife, family and friends. You will be missed Sir.

Re: Ray Fisher AKA Bumper RIP
I got to know Ray many years ago when he started contributing to the “Money, Finance and Investing” forum and when he decided not only to learn about investing in the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), but actually had the courage to go ahead and do it... and, albeit with a few hiccups, do it successfully.
Over a number of years Ray provided a long running series of posts on UM about his progress and, in his wry self-deprecating manner, talked about his mistakes, setbacks and the difficulties of getting accurate and reliable information on Thai businesses especially when you only have a basic knowledge of the Thai language.
What Ray achieved in investing in the SET was, in my professional opinion, quite remarkable.
Despite having no financial training he was assiduous in his digging and delving and, most importantly, undertaking as much research as he could on businesses, their accounts, their markets and the extremely difficult environment of smoke and mirrors that they operated in – Thailand.
Ray was also representative of the kind of decent, helpful and informative members that UM used to have in its early days.
Ray started the “Baht What up with Dat?????” thread on UM on 3rd Mar 2006 - I think it is the longest running and most viewed topic on UM (at the time of writing it has had 4,585 responses and 335,812 views).
RIP Ray – I’ll miss you

Re: Ray Fisher AKA Bumper RIP
Ray was a prince of a guy and one of the first expats that I had the pleasure to meet after I arrived in Udon in June 2010. He lived just down the soi from me in First Home at the time. Once I put an ad in the classified section of the forum looking for a used exercise bike, and Ray sent me a PM to offer me his for free. The thing was practically brand new and every time I ride it I think of his generosity and selfless nature. We'll miss you ol' friend. Condolences to his family! RIP Bumper!
Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

As my people would say ' One of the tallest trees in the forest has fallen' ..
that being in regards to him being an elder, and also as a long time member of this site, and of the Udon ex pat community.
Never met him myself, but from his words here, I pictured a man of morals, and of respect.
My thoughts are with the family of course.
