Just want to post how attentive the Udon Golf Society (@Galee) is. =D> =D>

Recently a Dutch friend, who lives in Sjanghai, came to Udon for 2 nights
only and wanted to play golf also. I contacted Galee via UM and my friend made
an appointment. Cause I showed my friend and his wife the nightlife
of Udon he was a bit tired and cancelled the next morning his
appointment.

So Galee ,please dont blame my friend..hehehe....blame me and thanks for
all your info and attention.

My brother (13 handicap) and I (8 handicap) are visiting the Udon area at the end of April arriving on 26th for just over a week. Last time I visited Thailand I took my clubs and played at Sri Thani in Udon and then a week in the Chonburi area but this time because of the time constraints I am thinking of leaving my clubs at home. Can anyone advise me whether we can hire for the once or twice we will want to play.
In addition, I have heard that the Udon Thani Club on Udon-loei Road is worth a vist .. can anyone advise please.
Many thanks
Dave

I played several times at Udon Thani Club (18 km). It is reallly hard. But if you are 8 handicap, no problem. Fairways are narrow and if you are outside of the fairway, forget your ball. I gave up playing there running out of balls! Some places, the tee box has no grass and there are some tricky holes.

18km, maybe 2-3 sets of rental clubs available...piece meal sets....however you can always ask the caddies there to use their sets for a charge of course / Sri Thani - Wing 23 has decent sets available for rent / don't know about the Army course.

Udon Golf Club (18K) is one of those courses that golfers tend to either like or loathe.

While I happen to like 18K there are many western golfers in Udon who having played it once will not return to play it again; it is not a course or club house that I would recommend as representative of a good Thai holiday golfing experience, neither would I recommend Wing 23 (Air Force course) or Nong Samrong (Army course).

Depending on the time available I would go for:
As with many things in life, what suits one person may not suit another.
Ashamed to be English since 23rd June 2016 when England voted for racism & economic suicide.

Hi,
My name is Richard and I would like a to join up with the society for a game of golf.
Would it be o.k. to join you on your next outing.
Where do you meet and at what time, i have just arrived in Udon and need plenty of time to learn where the courses are.
Many Thanks.
Richard.

I think you need to re'adjust your time to the courses, perhaps your taking the wrong rout via Chang Mai. Sri Thani 10min from the intersection, Victory Park 35min from Udon and Singha Park is 1hr 30min..............got the tee shirt.

Hi Richard. Our next outing is at Wing 23 next Monday. The entrance to the course is on the main Khon Kaen road out of town, on the right hand side before you get to the ring road. Look out for the two planes either side of the entrance.
We meet up around 8.00am for an 8.30am start. If you have proof of a handicap it makes things easier. Your more than welcome to play as a guest for a few times to see if the society is your cup of tea or not.
Numbers are low at this time of the year so the more the merrier. :D
