Excellent, back to winning ways after failing to see off Nong Khai last week. Pleased for those who travelled. It seems one goal came early (4 mins), then a penalty (89 mins). Phew! Hope to catch a video of that very late incident, because it would be unusual for a team here not to moan about the award, complaints justified or not. (what? no walk-offs, assaults on referees, officials on pitch  )

Arguably, perhaps without major stars at present, the team continues to come up with results. Well done!

A good weekend for the top two, Ubon and Udon, as none of the other teams in top 7 managed to win. :D

Ubon scored 5 goals again (5-2), this time at Nong Khai. Loei only got a point at Amnat (0-0), Surin lost at Nakhon Phanom (0-1) and Sisaket United got a point at Sakhon Nakhon (1-1).
Loei is now 4 points behind UDFC, while Surin is 6 behind. UDFC travel to Surin next weekend.

Wow, Ubon are surely en route for a goals scoring record, if they keep this up, averaging (without checking again) about 5 goals a game. Mind you, they won't get any in Udon's next home game. [-o< I hope somebody from Udon did some scouting on them yesterday, as they were playing 'up the road'. I wonder who's scoring all the goals, a few individuals or from the whole team? If I've read correctly a teamsheet from their game at Nong Khai, Justine didn't start the game, was named as a substitute.

Ubon has 44-9 in 9 games this season, so that`s an average of 5-1.
UDFC only has 14-4, much less impressive than Ubon.
Also UDFC`s games has the lowest average of goals scored (14+4=18/9=2), together with Nong Bua`s games (9+9).

UDFC has had a great season so far with 21 points, but they got 23 points from the same fixtures last season. Next up is Surin (A), Ubon (H) and Sisaket (A). Last season UDFC only got 1 point from these 3 fixtures. Let`s hope they do better this time!

But last year I'll remember (I think) that we did loose to Ubon because of the light went out and that give the away team a 2-0 victory, lets hope we can turn that around this time, looks hard bur..

You are right, Baa...:)

UDFC is replacing Liew with another supplier, so they will possiby have new shirts shortly. Still orange, I hope!
I wonder if they will give a discount to those who have bought the one they currently use.

I think I'll probably stick with the one I bought already, although it's a bit snug in this climate. I do hope this development isn't a con to sell more shirts (perhaps I've lived too long in Thailand that I doubt everything! )
I noticed the shirts worn by Nong Khai fans whilst walking around Tescos pre-game. I rather liked them again(as I did last seasons). Wonder what they charge this season; last year Nong Khai shirts were around 200 baht cheaper than Udon's!

Some news today. The new chairman is planning a 25000-seater stadium without a running track. Price 600 million.
Also he will use 30 million on the team to get promotion to D1 this season.

UDFC`s toughest game so far this season is at Surin tomorrow at 6PM. Surin City is in 4th place, six points behind Udon. At home they have 10 points from four games and 12-3 in goals. Hoping for a win, but I will be happy with a draw.

The new UDFC-kit will be launched at the homegame vs Ubon next weekend.
The contract with Liew was cancelled due to a delay in delivery of shirts. The reason for the delay is that UDFC owed them money.

I'm not so sure that the bottom line wasn't the delay in delivery(we know some fans have been waiting) rather than Udon not paying. The new Chairman is very rich, I understand, probably used to people 'jumping' and it would seem strange if a sum in terms of pocket money as far as he's concerned, couldn't be found. Perhaps he's misplaced his ATM card? There would, I guess, be the income from the sale of shirts, surely quite a bit more than the contract cost, unless that was put to other uses. Shame really, as I thought the shirt company had a good reputation, website etc. and the shirts appeared good quality. My present shirt bought already this year is, of course, recognized, many people wear older shirts anyway and any new shirt would have to be a great design/quality for me to buy another, although I wouldn't probably have to exist on bananas and rice if I did! :-k

There has been talk of a new ground for a while now. The proposed budget is similar to that of Buriram’s Thunder Castle, although about 7,000 less capacity. Leaving out how and who was responsible for Buriram getting where they are, it IS a very good stadium – although as an ‘away’ fan on my visit, I still got soaked! Great to have decent seating, toilets, refreshments(although still remember not being allowed to take my young son’s milk carton up to the seating!) parking, 7/11 on site etc. If Udon is able to create anything similar, it will be great.
My hope is that the new owner and his team are honourable men. If they are putting up the money, then one cannot complain if they make money, if and when Udon hit the big time. I just hope the Club retains its’ community, ‘local’ spirit, no matter what success arrives. As I’ve said previously, it would be great to support an Esan power and to ‘threaten’ the Bangkok(and Buriram) monopoly.
I shouldn’t possibly be that bothered (it’s not MY money!) but I hope the Club will be sensible in spending to achieve promotion. It would be nice if any players signed just happened to be born down the road, but realistically they’ll come for the money, not for love of Udon. I’ll feel some regret for players who have contributed to Udon already setting a foundation for promotion this season and now find themselves out of the team. But I guess that’s the harsh reality of progress. Let’s not forget that, whilst Ubon are the ‘bees knees’ this season, I think they added quite a few players to their squad towards the end of last season, but still didn’t make it.
