There was a poll mentioned in Bangkok Post some days ago where 70-80% wanted Woravi out. But it doesn`t matter what fans want when others have money and power. Fans has tried to get rid of him for 3-4 years already, without any luck. I can`t see that he do much good for thai football, but other candidates might not do any better. There are too much corruption in Thailand, and until the people of Thailand do something to change that, the rich and powerful can do what they want.
I just hope politics and corruption stay far away from UDFC.

False hope. If you have been following the various UDFC related fan club FB pages this week you might have seen that now UDFC has problems of its own too. Typical Thai story, where some in charge play stupid games. The trip to Ang Thong has been a mess for the players, some of who also don't seem to receive their salaries. Fans are angry and even threatened to boycot tomorrow's game, but on Tuesday nigh it was decided that the players need our support now more than ever. So expect a full house tomorrow night, and hopefully 'our' first win in the play-offs.

Udon Thani FC - The 2013-season

Post by Brian Davis » October 20, 2013, 7:30 am

A slightly disappointing crowd for last night’s game. Maybe people can’t get off work so easily on a Saturday and I get the impression Sunday attendances are usually better. There was also the factor that some will have been involved in phansaa celebrations.
But the crowd was lively enough and Udon came out looking like they were up for it. Two goals early, both scored by Pouya, who was a handful for Nakhon throughout the game – after, in my view, a couple of anonymous performances against Sukhothai and Ang Thong, although he didn’t perhaps get much service.
Udon, without numbers 16 and 30 (hope nothing significant in that) appeared to adopt different tactics to normal with a long ball approach, at least early in the game, trying to ‘hit’ Pouya. Maybe they’d done their homework, because Nakhon seemed a bit powderpuff defensively and were muscled out of it at times.
Actually, I thought Nakhon played some nice football throughout and looked a threat, particularly at the start of the second half. Udon’s defence was at full stretch and there was some last ditch tackling and some good fortune too. As Nakhon came near several times, I was beginning to think Udon might regret missing further earlier chances, but Udon then added a third against the run of play at that point.
For me, Mamady (No 3) had a great game. If they had this computer analysis here, I think he’d come out miles ahead on interceptions, headers, tackles and blocks. And he kept his dangerous-looking opponent fairly quiet.
I thought 3-0 flattered Udon a little, but it was an important win after the disappointment of the previous games. A greater challenge next week at Chiang Mai?
Nakhon, a feeder team to Muang Thong, turned up in a MT livery bus with ‘Champions of Thailand’ on the side – very smart too. Some redesign MAY be necessary soon as Buriram, unfortunately, seem in a good position to win the Premier this season.

Brian, great report. Do you know who scored the third? Because by then the ongoing festivities at our stand ('mai mee langkha' - the stand without roof) troubled the view slightly.
I'm looking forward to the trip to Chiang Mai, definitely with this win in the pocket. But UDFC needs to work on their pressure play, because they will not be able to score that easy against CMFC and they still don't put enough pressure on their opponents when they loose the ball.

I'd be happy to read from others whether they viewed the game same or not. Easy to pick out the foreign players, but I have trouble with the Thai.

No 31 Oyewole Yemi Joseph scored third (I'm still not sure what he likes to be called or even his surname) - used his pace from about half way and finished with coolness. Videos on facebook if you want to see.

He calls himself Yemi Oyewole Joseph on Facebook and he has O.Yemi on his shirt, but not sure if Joseph is his last name.

Udon was the far better team in the 1st half and could have scored after only 10 seconds, and they could/should have scored 5 before the break. Nakhon Nayok the better team after the break, but in total a well deserved win for UDFC.

I was also expecting a bigger crowd yesterday, and the reasons you mentioned is probably why it wasn`t a full house, together with losing the first 2 CL-games.

Sven / Brian ... reference the less than full house ,,, dont forget it was an important day on the Buddhist calendar yesterday Ork Pansa the end of lent ,,, hence all the parties n fireworks around town ,, i think theres your answer .

As for the footy ,,, Udon deserved their win but must sharpen up .... Pouya the farang forward or what ever needs to remember this is a team game trying to do too much on his own when better passing options were there .

Only my op

I think that's very fair comment. Ah, the ability to be aware of players around you with almost certain chances of scoring, rather than going it alone with lesser opportunity. But one sees it even in the English Premier League. It can be a difficult decision i.e. I think Arsenal are guilty, at times, of passing the ball too much in the penalty area.

I actually remember Pouya's first game and I recall him laying off the ball to teammates particularly well. It's not so obvious to me now. He joined Udon after the season started and must now be in double figures for goals. I guess he might argue good enough reason not to pass!

Sukhothai got close to their 3rd win yesterday, but Paknampho scored in the 96th (!) minute to make it 3-3. That leaves UDFC 4 points behind the top 2 teams.

Next game is at 6pm on Saturday...

The feed today is really poor, so I haven`t been able to watch anything yet.
SMMTV should have shown UDFC today, but changed to a D1-game.
Sukhothat is 2-2 now. Nakhon Nayok beat Paknampho NSRU 1-0 today. :D
