Whilst attending the Physical Education College for the Veterans World Cup Football a while back, I noticed a ring and what seemed to be a training facility at the back of the main stadium. There were Muay Thai fights being staged in the evening attracting quite a crowd. You may want to take a look. Left of highway going from 'old' Tesco's towards Nongbualamphu, just past the junction with Kut Chap turn off, map ref C12.

The Muay Thai boxing ring is open from about 5pm-7pm (thai time!) monday- friday and the trainer
is called Mr Duan. If you have some martial arts experience you can use the punch bags and other equipment for free. If you need some basic training then you might have to make a personal arrangment
with Mr Duan and compensate him financially.
One of my growing list of resolutions is to return to Muay Thai training. Skyhawk, if you are interested them PM me and I can meet you up with you and introduce you to Mr Duan.

As battles soon to be fought in Africa, the ever nearing smell of gunpowder will bring tears to your eyes
