How to Pick Lottery Numbers

Post by parrot » August 17, 2016, 8:14 pm

My wife and I have trashed maybe a hundred dollars over 40 years on lottery tickets......almost all of them in Texas and almost all of them quick picks at the cashier. You can only pick your birthday so many times before you hand fate to the man behind the cash register and quick pick machine. Well, picking our own numbers or having the machine pick for us never worked.
But for a very poor rice farming woman in Phen, a combination of a lucky dream and a funeral resulted in her winning 6 million Baht in yesterday's lottery. First she had a lucky dream.......dreaming of a villager piling up bamboo shoots in front of her house.....(ask your wife if that's a lucky dream!). Later that day, she went out and bought two sets of numbers......254004 and 254089. She said the reason she choose the ticket with #...004 was because she had been at a relative's funeral in July.....and when the family went to put the body in the casket, she noticed the person's ID card under the casket.....with the number 004. The bamboo dream was the good luck impetus that led the woman to go out and buy the tickets.
Looong story short, don't discount those lucky dreams your wife will invariably tell you. Teeth falling out = bad dream, bad luck. Falling into a benjo or having someone poop on your body = good luck

It's no wonder Thailand doesn't subscribe to the quick pick system......no one would use it!

Well it wasn't MY wife, although she's into the dreams thing and has that book which 'translates' the events of a dream into a number or two. I haven't looked for my dodgy dreams yet. :-"
But should we ever get lucky and win millions, I'd keep quiet about it for sure!

Wazza you have to change your strategy.....69 became 181 years ago once the aussie metric system came into being. :D

So, yet another in a long string of lottery investigations.....the latest, a 78 year old retired police chief who somehow purchased 30 pairs of winning numbers. The national lottery ministry issues 71 pairs that are supposed (supposed) to be distributed around the country, making it likely that many people will share in the first prize winnings or 6 million baht for each winning pair (total of 426 million baht).

was discussing this with tw at breakfast this am, it does sound highly suspect he'd have access to 30 pairs and now that it's said that they're supposed to circulate throughout the country it sounds ever more suspect.

my wife swore there'd be no way a retired ex cop would have inside info but I beg to differ, after all being a cop here is a lucrative cash enterprise -not a civic profession. :-k

Having picked your winning tickets, you can then take them to the lottery agent who you got the ticket from and he/she will charge you a percentage to get the winnings for you .......... place NEVER ceases to Amaze

Well I won 6000 Baht once and when I picked the winnings up in Prosi Rd I wasn't charged anything but when the girl who paid out took one look at the money and with a big smile on her face she she said " What you do tonight". Still makes me laugh.

Hey Barney, went back to the village to the Mrs but made the mistake of telling her about my win first. When I got back half the village were at my house waiting for their somtam and whiskey!

There are lottery vendors in places you'd not expect to see them.......hospitals, police stations, and just outside the vaccine center at the university. For one Udon woman, her vaccination number led her to choose this week's lottery number.......as her vaccination number (327) wasn't available, she did what most any Thai would do......she picked the next closest thing (372). She won.

Im sure almost every Thai has a long list of numbers that can be used when needed covering any combination.
Over the last 20 yrs Mrs Statts has informed me at various times that just about all my car reg numbers/house numbers (inc back in UK), birthdays of third cousins two times removed, day mum crashed her bike, amount of beers bro in law drunk b4 passing out etc etc would have won me the lottery, and it was my fault I didnt know which it was gonna be that month ...... guess I'm just not that lucky
