Demi Lovato was on Jimmy Fallon tonight......and that got me to thinking about my tour in Riyahd many years ago. Newspapers and magazines from around the world were available everywhere......but censors blacked out any hint of skin on females.....you can imagine the giant wells of black ink needed on some of the British newspapers! A tiny photo of Madonna on the front of a bootleg cassette had most of the exposed body blacked out. Even a box of Lux soap....with a picture of a freshly bathed woman wrapped in a towel didn't escape the censors' black pens.
I often wondered how big the Ministry of censorship must have been there.
Tonight's episode of Jimmy Fallon made me wonder the same thing about the state of affairs in Thailand
