To my taste, the fortuner looks nicer, the MU-7 looks more like a modified pick up,
but this is personal taste....
also think that the fortuner will keep his value longer

I have BT 50 you get ABS in mazda which ford does not offer from what I was told
mazda also has 1/2 doors that open in two door PU as for toyota & Isuzu does not have that option
you will have to go to 4 doors if I was in the market I would look at mitsubishi 4 door it cheaper than the mazda and I think it under rated P.U Truck it better than most IMO maybe the best

There is quite a difference between the SUV's and the pick-ups...

Anyway, I had a Ford Ranger full options 4WD for the last 6 years, never had a problem. Seats are better than the japanese cars, that's what I found. And the new Ford has a more modern engine. The car is great in bad terrain.

Only problem : I have it serviced in KonKean where I bought it as well, because of several bad experiences with the Ford garage in Udon.

I have a fortuner now, but before I had a vigo which in my opion was better than the fortuner.
You have to also remember that the fortuner is fixed 4 W.D. and uses a lot more fuel and the price of fuel is increasing daily.

 You have to be kidding. I had a fortuner for 3 years and never once put it in 4WD mode. The main probs I found .... fuel economy very poor, and a rolling sensation for passengers in the rear seats which caused nausea and travel sickness (even for a mate who drives about 80,000 miles every year). Got given nearly 80% of purchase price for a 3 year old model, so it holds it's value well.
Just got a new Triton Plus and already noticing the improvement in fuel consumption.

I think the Fortuner is due for a remodel and IMHO they aint too pretty. I usually tool around in a 4-door Vigo and my mate has a blinged out Fortuner but my wife gets car sick in the back seat of his Fortuner, whereas she has no worries making a 7-hour road trip in our Vigo.

I am interested in the Isuzu Mu7 as an alternative now that we have a bairn. The Isuzu looks like it won't roll whereas the Fortuner already has the rounded corners in anticipation!

I always thought Fords were better value that Mazda considering it's just a different badge on the same pile of steel. Was the case 20-odd years ago when I had a TX-5 and my other mate had a 626. His was about 100k baht more expensive but shared the same features.

I hear the new Triton's are loads better than the previous models in the reliability stakes.

BUT... probably will get a Honda CR-V cos the wife is a totty wee thing.

I have a Chev Captiva 2 WD and no issues with rolling / motion sickness etc.

Seats 7 all up and similar to the Fortuner, but slightly smaller and easier to park etc...
