Valentines day coming soon...
Valentines day coming soon...
Anyone know of a local shop that delivers flowers or cakes and has online ordering. Or any other ideas would be appreciated for that special day . I did find the following link, but wanted to see if there were other options available.

Rito, I've only used one florist--and just once. It was Steve's recommendation, Flowers2Thailand. The outcome was far better than I imagined!
My wife's birthday is in February, so last year I wanted to time something to arrive in the afternoon/evening where she works in Phuket. I couldn't quite make up my mind on what to get, so I selected three items: a small gift basket, flowers, and a clock for which I would be able to send to the florist by E-mail a few select photos that they would use as a montage for the clock face.
The florist followed instructions perfectly, it turned out! When I spoke with Jack that night, she told me how a car had pulled up outside the small restaurant where she works and a guy got out, asking for Jack. I don't now recall just what he produced, but it was one of the items with a card--I think anything that you order comes with a card. Anyway, he then drove off after turning the gift over to her. At the time, she was thrilled to think that I would surprise her like this, especially in front of her sister and the others there at Le Vele. It made her feel very special.
Then an hour or so later, the guy came back and produced the other two items! This blew Jack away! She was high all night, and for several days later she was still floating! She said that no one had ever done anything like this for her before. I never anticipated the impact such a small surprise would have. But to be honest, I didn't give the florist instructions to make two deliveries. To this day, I do not know if it was because of some error on their part, or if it was done by design for maximum effect.
I'll use them again for her next birthday, but I'm sure that she'll be expecting something this time, unfortunately!

Hi papaguido
I use the forever-florist (Nittaya) and find their service to be excellent. Nittaya emails back to ensure the order is correct and keeps me informed through the delivery proccess. Which is excellent for as soon as you receive the delivery email then you know you can ring the receiver. And at times I have been talking to that person a half hour after delivery.
As John has suggested, (and it sounds like he has had the same past experiences with others as well), some of them would promise that they deliver all over Thailand - and never deliver when it came to Udon. Bloody infuriating when they are being sent for a real special occassion, and then they own up after the day that they don't have a reliable supplier in Udon. Which is bullcrap as when I was in Udon over Xmas I along with the help of my better half spoke to the girl closest to the corner monument where all the florists are west of Robinson, and was informed that she would gladly ensure delivery of any order that any of them arranged with her.
They are probably all considered expensive as I buy all my flowers from that same girl as above when in Udon, and the very biggest bouquets at about $100 through the internet florists are about 300 baht.
But then as Garnet suggests the cost is not such a big issue when a Thai girl who has possibly never been treated like a lady, receives such a suprise, especially in front of her work mates.

And here, I thought it was just another commercialized American holiday excuse to sell stuff but it seems that Great Britain, Canada (but not Sweden) all "celebrate" it, as well. Wonder where in the world else? Probably in every country that has a florist shop?
Better not forget, Ray, or it will be the Valentine's Day Massacre all over again.

Valentine's Day
Guys,
Believe me when I tell you that the #1 rule for birthdays, Valentine's Day, and so forth is...
"NOTHING THAT COMES WITH AN ELECTRICAL CORD OR CAN IN ANY WAY QUALIFY AS AN APPLIANCE ASSOCIATED WITH HOUSEWORK"
