I made my views known on another thread a few months back and received some harsh answers.
So this time I'll use the old adage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". If your attire works for you, then by all means continue. I now what works for me, what I feel comfortable wearing, and what I'll continue to wear.

stattionthailand, you are either a wind up merchant, or a protentious pratt . who gives a rats arse what anyone else wears . i dress to please myself, if d~ckheads like you dont like it, not my problem. if you ever manage to extract your head from your a~sehole, you will be very surprised to find this is the 21st century.

Treehugger and Stattionthailand. I've no idea how old you are, but judging by your Victorian attitudes I reckon you've got to be in your 70's. This being the case you've probably got legs that the public wouldn't like to see and I appreciate you covering them up.
If on the other hand your not in your 70's your 2 sad dudes.

And have you met my family...thats me with a center parting holding a copy of The Udon map magazine....ahh happy days.
I couldn't agree more. A man without standards is a man who wears his shorts with no underpants.stattointhailand wrote:Good grief man, one has to have standards you know.
Next step down the "SLIPPERY SLOPE" .......................
Drinking ones Brandy out of a wine glass, OR WORSE STILL, drinking beer out of the bottle !!
I'm a dual service kind of guy.
Shorts most places, including shopping trips, during the day (it's hot in Thailand!) but long pants when I'm out after dark. My mama raised me as a gentleman you know.... I'm not telling if I wear shorts under either of them!
If I was going to a wat or a government office I would wear long pants and shirts with sleeves out of respect.
What anyone else chooses as their attire is entirely their own decision, not mine. I think that's the way it should be.

Good fun this topic, although i do know exactly what you mean but.... ie the word 'pants' for us brit members is usually a term to describe 'under crackers' Y-fronts, knickers etc....so i do chuckle when i imagine someone going to the Government office in a pair of knickers or Y-fronts and no trousers...lol...thanks for that.

That dapper, turn of the century (we're not talking the one eight years past!) look.
It could become the latest rage with the fashion consciousness that the residents of Udon Thani are known for!

Wonder what the Thai's would've dressed like in that era.

For one, the Lao women would have been topless as they would have been in the Lanna Kingdom centred at Chiang Mai. I am not so sure about the Siamese female.
Sorry I have no information about Lao, Lanna and Siamese men as I never did much social research on the boys.
