So farang alley is being torn down and all the businesses opposite the complex moved out weeks ago to alternative premises. But in the middle of all the rubble Mr. Tong's Bar still stands and is open for business as usual. I wonder why Mr. Tongs is the only business allowed to stay while all other businesses have been told to leave.

You might as well buy a couple of Beer Changs from 7/11 and drive out to the rubbish tip and drink them there !

In your post you refer to hardening of attitudes is not aimed at those who are here legally and enjoy life here, but those who by their personal ethics spoil it for us. Immigration flouting, child perversions, drugs, drink, anything that upsets Thai karma.
As for checking by govt officals, , believe it if you wish to, when I speak to my friends ( some very very influential in Udon), they have no knowledge, but they occasionally read Thai sites which reference this site and then the proverbilal can hit the fan.
Intelligent Thais understand the frredoms of chat /talk sites, some do not like it but they exist, the fact they tried to stop Youtube I think it was is an indication of their nationalistic views on some subjects, however in the main they operate a 'Jai dee' atiitude.
I read your posts with interest but the bais is there.
integration in Thai life is hard for us all, some do it better than others, it is not just the family but life in general, how many of you belong to a club or society that has thais and farangs in. How many involve yurselves in a Thai business ( not family)where your input is accepted and in some cases chersihed.
I have gone to many Govt events and met many people here form law enforcement to factory owners and Govt officals, none hold the attitude that farangs are a problem or wish them gone. But we do sometimes shoot oursleves in teh foot as I was reminded by a senior immigration offical a year ago. Talking about a farang that was obtuse, angry and unhelpful, hence immigration could not help him. I had no names, but is was an interesting problem.
So be careful who you attack on this site, i do not attack just state the obvious, if you do not like this post, that is your decision.
Wr sometimes feel the urge to chastise another, but as you do not know me nor i you I do feel the need to chastise just advise, how you take is your decision.
have a good ady and yes i have kids hee, and a wife and clubs i belong too and many other things that in some cases try to help the farang community.

Today in England it is Fathers Day and my 50 year old daughter sent me a card addressed to DADDY. I thought that was real cute. Then I read your post and I haven't stopped laughing since.
