Windfall Tax on Retirement Income
Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying.
Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words, tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement.
Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!
"We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest."
When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: "We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated; 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'."
In other words: Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.

''Windfall profit tax'',denotes that people or companies have received an excessive amount of profit from their efforts!I wonder if the ''speaker''proposes to supplement these people when the profits are not there!
Don't they realize that by taxing the successful efforts of people will diminish their desire to succeed and therefore shrink the amount of taxes paid, which will insure that higher taxes are charged to pay the proposed spending budgets, until everybody is brought down to a noncompetitive level standard of living that is ruled over by the powerful elite of gov't!

This does not sound like Nancy Pelosi as much as election year propaganda. I really don't think Ms. Pelosi is stupid enough to say something like this.
Googling the phrase "Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income" from Ricohoc's post came up with this Snopes article that identifies this as a hoax.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/pelosi.asp
The summarizing paragraph:
"However, the first example reproduced above, quoting Rep. Pelosi as
disdaining 2005 and 2006 stock market gains and endorsing a 100% on
windfall profits gained from stocks (with the proceeds to be
"redistributed to the poor and working class") does not correspond to
anything she actually said or proposed. It's a parody based on extremes
of Democratic stereotypes expressing scorn for corporate profits,
favoring huge tax rates for high-income earners, wanting to confiscate
money from the rich to give to "illegal immigrants" and "unemployed
minorities" that was written as a bit of pre-election satire and
falsely attributed to a pair of /New York Times/ reporters. The
following year, someone reworked the piece (shown in the second example
above) to insert the equally false claim that Rep. Pelosi's non-existent
windfall tax proposal would include retirement income as well as stock
market profits."

Ron, we have more idiots in Congress than you realize. Many have never held a real job. They've been a politician since leaving college and have never run a business. They understand very little of the real world.aznyron wrote:these people are not stupid they did not get there because they were idiots I only know one person who was elected to office who was idiot this is all republican proper gander / do you really think they want to commit political suicide just tell me why would they take your money and give it to illegals who can not vote or welfare people who don't vote all they know is when is there check coming all you are doing is in-sighting bull crap
Just because you don't believe it, doesn't mean it's bull crap. It means that in your opinion it's bull crap.
Rico well I would like a list of those who came from college to Congress / I also agree some of them are idiots / so what you post is rock solid about Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic congress /
if every one thought your way we would not have one D. in office / I still want to see proof of that article and now some right wing editorial trying to scare voters / you know it reminds of many years back Jesse Helms was up for re/election against a black guy just before the election he released a article for the TV saying if you elect the black man I forgot his name your jobs will be replaced by black workers and if you don't believe me do a google search on Jesse Helms and also those red necks who hate blacks ran out & voted for Jesse and that is what going to happen in November
red necks who never voted will vote for John and there only reason is he is the white candidate /
which I think is sad but it also true about blacks supporting Barack
