How many Profiles with photos on the Intro sites.
I have just done a search for ladies 20-36, in Thailand, with photos, active within the last month......
asiafriendfrinder.com = 265 - with photos
www.thailovelinks.com = over 2000 - with photos (possibly over 10,000 without photos, but I don't even bother wasting my time with them)
As a paid member at both, I find the profile information and messaging centre in AFF to be better than TLL, but TLL has a much larger database of Thai ladies.
One thing to note, when restricting a search to "active within last month" AFF search works, TLL ignores it and provides all profiles no matter how old. Always look at the last logged in date on all profiles, if older than 2 months, it is a dead profile.....

This was a couple of years ago but it worked brillantly for me.
I emailed the owner of the asiansweetheart.net site. It is a very small site. I supplied her with a 200 word introduction letter and 2 photos of myself. She translated it into thai and sent it back in a thai script word doc so that it was re usable for me. I also requested an introduction to about 10 of the ladies on her site. Total cost was about $120 American. The response back from the ladies was good with correspondence with about 4 of them going on close to 2 months. The big problem was the language barrier, and the time factor for them to reply.
Then I had 2 brillant ideas. The second one I am prehaps glad I did not have to go through with, although it would have been good fun. I was going to run off about 2000 copies of the thai written introduction and for several nights at office knock off time stand in the main streets of Khorat and hand them to all the likely looking office girls. I have always had a thing about office girls and those standard white shirt and dark skirts they wear...dirty old bugger thinking senior school girls.
The other idea was more logical. Joined Asianfriendfinder and paid the platinium charge from go. Then had (cooked) a sickie from work and for the day when right through the site on search for "thai" "25 to 38" "with and without photos". Went right back to the very first thai girls on the site. Pasted a brief message in every girls mailbox that appealed to me either by photo, but mostly by the very brief written introduction.
I has a very good response with some replys coming in still months later. The obvious things to me were that some of these girls worked and had little time to go to an internet shop (fewer back a few years) or had lost interest due to lack of responses or sex orientated responses. Another was that asian girls are shy by nature and many do not like putting their photos out in the public arena; and many think that compared to western women their photo is not attractive - how wrong they are. I was very suprised by some of the beauties that sent photos back to me that would not post them up front, and by the amount of responses I received from those that had been listed on the site for ages.
The beautiful lady that now shares my life was one of those that had been on the site since the very early days and did not have her photo listed.

Thought you might like to hear the other side of the coin, so to speak.I have been helping a young lady trainee doctor to write to a retired GP from Finland. Last week he arrived in Bangkok, rang her and wanted her to go to Bangkok and see him, was very surprised when she refused on the grounds she hadn't even met him yet and certainly wouldn't go so far from home to see a stranger. He eventually came to Udon, asked her to see him at his hotel, a very cheap one, she went with a friend in the afternoon to say hello. He seemed okay, so agreed to have a meal with him that evening.Arrived at hotel, looking her loveliest, nice dress etc, to be greeted by him wearing shorts, trainers etc.She naturally asked him to change, which he did.Outside the hotel she went to go to her car but he said its not too far, we can walk.To her amazement they walked along the road a bit, and he stopped at a typical roadside diner, tin chairs, tables etc, all you can eat at 25baht.She naturally refused, dressed as she was. After some discussion they settled on going to Rabian Patanee overlooking the lake, he then debated the price for a samlor who wanted 60bht, he only wanted to pay 30b, after 10 minutes he settled for 40b.
As usual at this restaurant, excellent food, not expensive, she ordered a fish, sold by weight not price, when it came he demanded to know the price, when told 200bht wanted to send it back for a smaller one.The next fiasco was trying to get a samlor back to the hotel, there wasn't one, he suggested walking, totally ignoring the fact she had high heels on.Fortunately a work colleague of hers was there who offered to give them a lift in his car, a further insult was added when the Finn asked him how much?
Safely back at his hotel he then had the audacity to ask her to stay the night, when she refused he told her" You want everything expensive, you'll never find a good man like that"Went back inside muttering, Thai girls, all they think of is money, money.
Just thought you would all like to hear one girls experience of a farang

I concur Valentine and Aussie Buom Pouy...
Here in normal everyday life it is very very rare to see couples (generally the male being the aggressor) acting like a***holes in public.
When in Udon over Xmas in the space of one day we (being my partner, thai neice and husband, and the young children) were confronted by
:-
In Big C (getting morning snacks in the bakery section) a falang blowing his cool with loud verbal abuse because his TG had selected the wrong loaf of a bread. (FFS - its a loaf of bread and a minor error)
Black Canyon Coffee (morning snacks 2nd's and 1st afternoon meal) in Khon Kaen, falang p!ssed and falling over tables. His TG trying to get him out of the place (FFS - drunk at 1 in the afternoon)
Back at a resturant in Udon (for final days meal) a falang p!ssed riping the strips out of his TG at the top of his voice over one hundred Baht she had only asked for. (FFS - she had done the right thing and asked not just helped herself)
I realise there are many good falangs (run into quite a few at my drinking holes at the Aussie Pub and City Lodge) around Udon that can have a good time, hold their p!ss and still treat their TG\TW with full respect just as well as there are thai men who can't. But its bloody embarrassing when you are out with your thai extended tribe and you run into falang men behaving like absolute d!ckheads in someone elses dominant culture. Still the one small consolation is that in all cases they appeared to be/or were 1st timers in Thailand so hopefully they will not be back and the thai girl has been wise enough to kick them to the kerb.

This crude and offensive dating and relationship behavior is seen in the US all the time -- fortunately, it's exhibited by people with whom few of us spend time associating. However, a smart and self-confident lady isn't going to (and doesn't have to) tolerate it in the US nor in Thailand, and it's just such a shame that these a**holes shame us all.valentine wrote:Thought you might like to hear the other side of the coin, so to speak.I have been helping a young lady trainee doctor to write to a retired GP from Finland. Shara
It seems to happen all the time Shara, I am sure others can give many examples, but here is a couple more:
- flying into Udonthani and the well dressed (for a falang ) gentleman next to me started (uninvited) to tell me his plans for his stay. They apparently included "meeting three women off the net, one each day, I'll give them a "try" and if they are no good, I'm going to Pattaya, its probably cheaper" Incidentally my TW was, by the way, on the other side, she understood perfectly... Although, she did swap seats and give him sideways glances for the rest of the flight, much to his discomfort
- picking my neice, all of 17, up from the centre to hear another one say to his "mate" (Yes they were Brits...) "Look at him the dirty ......etc, cor it's easy is'nt it !!!!". I dread the day in 10 or 12 years time if I pick my daughter up and the same happens!! I am not sure I have enough restraint Possibly a news topic will appear here....

Agnecies
I was referring to US/UK/etc. crude-and-rude male behavior in general, with all types of women, but in addition to that, I'm now absorbing what my step-daughter puts up with on a daily basis. She is 25 years old and describes herself as "half-Thai, half-Cracker" (as in Georgia cracker, a humorous ethnic term for rural Southerners). She is tall and willowy, with exotic, bi-racial features. Now here's the clincher -- she is an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) with a national accreditation that she spent years training for and earning. Do you have ANY idea the types of comments that men feel free to make when they learn of her career? It's appalling. She and her daughter moved in with us recently, and I made sure my son stayed home to monitor the painters who were working -- one was making her nervous, and my radar was going up also. I shouldn't worry -- she is trained in martial arts and could take his head off with the strength of her hands.yorkman wrote:It seems to happen all the time Shara, I am sure others can give many examples, but here is a couple more:

Still, the entire situation is so offensive.
Yes I understood your reference, but it gets no better when they get here.
It just makes me a little mad. There are many many men (and women) who are in Thailand for very genuine reasons, old memories, they happened to meet somebody from here, they met somebody on the internet, or via agencies and have genuine intent, they retired here because its both relaxing and helps their limited income go further, whatever..
But if 10,000 arrive with good intentions, the 1 that does not is what is remembered. And that is not the ratio.
I can sympathise with the step daughter problem, its not hard to imagine the comments in the USA/Europe or elsewhere. Its magnified 100% in Thailand though. Even if a girl gets ahead in life, opens a business or whatever, there is always somebody who wants to ask, in a rolling eye sort of way, where did the money come from to do that.
Yes, sometimes its from the old profession of course, often its due to family support, hard work, etc etc
It needs to be accepted though, offensive or not, its not going to change unless you want to be a hermit in this world, and ignore it.

Gulf Coast and Yorkman you are so right. As having been married to a Thai for quite a spell, it never ends. The first thing a lot of folks ask is where I met my wife. They do not mean where in relation to country or town, they mean which bar. As this has been discussed in another thread, I met her at my friends house. Another remark here in the good ole USA is when they found out I met her in Thailand they like to say "Guess you met a good one". ONe what? Usually it is with the rolling eyes etc.
Switch to Thailand and the leers or comments never stop. I have learned to control my comments or behavoir as best can be but have had a few confrontations. Never led to fist a cuffs yet, but sometimes that is the price you pay and I would defend my wifes honor no matter where she was from.
This is why when some folks lump all women as good or bad for what they have done in the past it hits a hot button. Like I said before I know some guys that met their wives in a bar and some are good and some are bad. On any given night here in Houston there are about 500 to 1000 women working in the so called Gentlemens Clubs. That is one town. Most of them are good and doing what need to be done to put food on the table. Sure some are hard hearted, but most go on to be fine women later on. Wonder how many guys met their wives at one of these places. More than one I bet. Like I have also said before, if you met your wife in a bar, then you are a barman (do not mean working there) and therefore no better or worse than your partner.
Airlines are like you said. I to hate to hear of the planned exploits of these guys. Guess I am not as polite as you are as I have told them I really do not want to hear what they plan to do once they start the x rated version. So far it has worked.
I try to give the same respect to everyone no matter their standing in life at that time. They might have a better standing than I have later and I hope I get that respect back.
Gulf Coast I do respect you for having someone stay with your step daughter. too many times when the radar comes on, we do not respond. Then we look back and say"I felt strange but nothing was amiss then". Of course when we say that it is too late. Better to be sorry than late.
As for the 1/2 Thai 1/2 falang child. It sucks in both countries, USA and Thailand. I have taken my kidos to Thailand and heard some comments. Have also listened to some racial comments here. Have tried to teach my kiddos to respect all. I only hope they do and so far neither have been in trouble. One 32 and one 28.
