from what I read on this topic he wears a lot of gold which will attract thieves and thieves come in all sexes not just lady boys IMO I think L.B. get a bum rap because they are different from us and we find them amusing and easy to humiliate. so if the white Mr T likes to walk around with $ around his neck & on his fingers then he is a walking target so no sympathy from me he is old enough to know better this is not the UK or the USA or Australia this is Thailand and people are HUNGRY

In my line of work - I get to hear of many cases of theft, assault, robbery and the likes

In Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket - you would not believe how many of those are involving ladyboys

Wallets, purses, mobile phones, digital cameras, money, notebook computers etc etc - all gone after a night (or few hours) of erm.. passion?

Whats more less than half get reported officially as the victim is too embarrassed to report how it happened - and the Lb's know that only too well.

It makes the wrong impression for those quiet ones (L/B's) who just want to look 'beautiful' and be left alone.

Agreed there is a lot of crime news involving LB's,'some' are desperate to get some cash and thats the only route, gives the 'real' ones that concentrate on looking beautiful a bad image.
And he wouldn't want to walk around parts of the UK wearing all the 'Tom', as some herbert would soon relieve him of it, and probably get stuck with a knife whilst trying to stop them.

Glyn wrote:Sorry guys, disappointing news as it is The Cable Guy still has his gold, the incident happened nearly a week ago, it was a lady boy, not some little cutie, and the boyfriend was indeed a boy, but again of the katoye variety. They bitched and pulled, kicked his joke chopper to the ground and ran away. You may all be getting confused for one or all of the following reasons:

1. Obviously the above incident

2. He has toned down his gold to 2 chains only and smartened his appearance with a Tom Jones styled shirt and the gold is rarely visible

3. He's told people that someone stole some of his gold, because the truth is he's had to off-load some to finance his extra-extended stay here in Udon. As I'm sure all you clever ones know, anyone who wears this much gold does indeed make a statement, "what you see, is all I have, if I had any surplus money I'd buy more gold with it. Well you can't see it in my bank account can you?"
I thought this post by Glyn cleared this matter up....

So does Glyns post above.
there was "an incident", no gold stolen, but Max has actually disposed of some of his stash & now wears what he has in rather a less flash manner... :D

Whoa, hold your horses, pilgrim.

There is just one point I'd like to raise before we wrap this one up.

Isn't it interesting how much we gossip about this character yet don't let him into the bars and clubs that Farangs frequent.

I wonder whether he's aware that we're all talking about him on this site and what he'd say if he knew.

I have an image of this gent walking into a bar and all the other Farangs looking the other way in an effort not to engage in conversation with him.

I'm happy to be corrected.

No, westerby I (a long time ago when I met him in a bar) have certainly engaged him in conversation.
I thought his excessive display of gold around his throat was, to put it mildly, not a sensible thing to do anywhere in the world. I told him I thought so & he replied to me in a similar way as others have already described in this thread.
I am pleased if he has "toned his act down" for whatever reason, because I think this will actually make his existence in Udon easier for him.
The "Cable Guy" accusations I cannot comment on, because I only met him once, but people decide who they want to engaged with & who they do not & that is a situation that (thankfully) is open to all of us....

I hear what you're saying, Bob. However, it seems that people choose not to engage with him yet choose to tell stories about him on a site where he can't defend himself.

Anyway, let's take BM's advice and wrap this one up.

In his defense he would say, as already stated "it's a brave/hard man who can remove this from my neck". To follow on from that I said "but there's a lot of mad people out there, he replied "your looking at the maddest bast@rd right here".

I don't think anything is being said here that hasn't been said to his face, where he had every opportunity to defend himself, and he did, even if he was spouting a load of bolloks.

Also in his defense, he's one lucky bastard, I know why he had so much gold, it wasn't just to show off, I also know (approx) how much it went up in value (he'll swear blind he had a crystal ball and knew exactly what he was doing). He's just off loaded about 30 baht, gold had almost peaked at 15,000bt per baht, it has now fallen to 13,000bt per baht - f*ck, that's 60k he would have lost, maybe he has got a crystal ball

In my defense, I did say he has a joke chopper, but have also told him to his face, everytime he wanted me to take his keys and drive it about (Cable Guy), I'd laugh and say "you must be joking".

As for Cable guy, I put names on all my bins for my regular customers, and Cable Guy's bin simply said "Cable Guy".

----, I almost implied he's a regular customer - I should have added that was before he was barred.
