You couldn't have chosen a better time to come!
April is the Thai New Year and it is one heck of a party. be prepared to get a thorough soaking wherever you go - yes I am serious. Most people jump into a pick up and join in the huge water fights around the town - with the largest being in Nong Prajak. there are parties and food stalls all over the city - in fact all over Thailand.
Usually runs about April 13th - 15th.

You will have a ball :)

Just make sure you book your travel arrangements in advance, as short notice can be a bit tricky at that time of the year.

And yes, you will get very very wet ;)

welcome to Udonmap forum Aspire :D I think April is the best time to visit Thailand!!! Thai new year (Songkarn's day) is my favourite festival ever!!!its on 13-15 April ! I think you should not miss it ;) On this day We have a big water fight . Some traditional people will go to sawasdee the older in the family and then the older will wish us something good throught this year after that travel to the temples to pour some water to the buddha statue and pray. Usually the teenager will stay in town so they can have a water fight ,and the best place to have water fight in Udon Thani is around Nongprajak park I think ,There are some other roads that always busy on Songkarn too . talking about this make me so excited for Songkarn's day 2006!! lol looking forward to having water fight with people again and having a free somtum in Nongprajak park! :P
Ps, Usually we will have the food festival the same day as water festival I hope the Tedsaban do it this year too I am desperate to Somtum :P

What a wonderful time of the year. I love Songkran but I have a special reason for that. My son was born on April 14th.

Welcome to Udonmap forum and the rest has been said by the others. Songkran is the best holiday of the year and the most fun. Hope you make here for it, and yes the road around Nong Prajak Park is the busiest during that time,13-15 April. I have to close the shop during that time, as fear of water logging my computers. LOL

And then you have the problem of the big cock going off in the morning, and the dubious pig issue.

see http://www.udonmap.com/udonthaniforum/v ... .php?t=388

I'm glad I am not on a train north is all..........

Heck, Wansman's cross dressing and makeup fades into insignificance

Bangsean Girl,

Jintara had a concert in London in 2005 as well.
She has a lot of fans in the UK and Europe.

The Carabao concert was cancelled due to problems with the Home Office sitting on their hands regarding the work permits.
