Depends how much goodwill is included in that figure, continued from when eddie and nong sold the business to glen.
Best of luck in his new venture, nongs restaurant is a well known name around town and no doubt recipes will be left for the next owner to continue in the good work.
Nongs was always an option for me to go eat because of the parking facilities, sadly lacking in other establishments.

For comparison, weren't the couple who had the California restaurant asking 300,000 for their place?

11-12K usd for equip, lease and some goodwill seems like a fair price.I have seen hole in the wall go for 8-9K.Of course the buyers were idiots to start with, but we are only talking about the going rates!

Lately,I have seen several 8-9K askings ,just fold up period for $ 0!

The last I heard is that Nong's is not currently open.

For the new owners, you would get all assets, except the pool table, it is on loan to me but will remain there for some time. All recipes on file, menu on file, shopping list, and of course my help to get you started. I will help you as long as required to make sure that it remains one of the best restaurants in Udon Thani.
Regards, Glen

It never ceases to amaze me how folks can not understand that it is not only real estate and equipment but the business aspect. ONe has to look at the books for past business and then compare that to what potential they think the business has. That way one can tell if a business sits idle or takes in money which is then compared to the expenditures.

What you are talking about is goodwill. However, if Nongs' ribs didn't have that many customers then the value of it's goodwill is low - and therefore the selling price should be low.

Wish I'd read this string before coming from Vientiane and walking down to Nongs saturday night, and spending 2 days beforehand looking forward to a kilo of ribs! Maybe it should be taken off the map?

Had dinner at The Sizzler last night, top floor Robinson's.
Noticed on the menu, "Baby Back Ribs", that looked like fall off the bone Ribs, beautiful, half & full rack.
Might want check it out, never seen any Ribs in Udon looking like this, only in the good 'ol U.S.A..
Best salad bar in town, no question...

Baby backs are good in there...add Nongs Sauce and could be a real winner ( Glen take note sell them the recipe), Tony Roma's BKK also a decent selection...i like a Rib. :D

Took your advice on Tony Roma's a couple of years back BM. Now it's a regular stop whenever in BKK.

Pricey but delicious. =P~

Will have to try this famous salad bar at Sizzlers some day. And some baby back ribs of course.
