Apparently,in Newcastle there is a genuine lifelong fan who is a "dead ringer" for Mike Ashley.
When Ashley initially took over the club he quite enjoyed being mistaken for him and being in the limelight.
However,of course, this has all changed with recent events and he has been threatened with violence in the toilets at St.James Park and thumped in a Newcastle pub !
Like the real Mike Ashley he is now frightened to go to matches for fears of his own safety.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

It's a shame that the Toon Army is in such disarray. They need stability if they want to start winning cups and stuff (sorry for stating the obvious). Someone was on Radio 4 yesterday, saying that part of the problem is the millionaires treating these clubs like play things when the team means a lot more than that to supporters and players, especially in Newcastle.

Anybody see the Tete aTete on ESPN Sportcenter tonight between Furguson & Wengre both backed Keegan & Curbishleys decisions to resign &both stated that if they were not allowed to have control over which players came in &which players went out they too would take the same course of action & resign...............As a N/cle supporter for more than 50 years [Season ticket holder for 30 of those]I know how many political problems there have been at Board level, what should have been one of the top clubs in English & possibly European football has been held back by greed & lack of understanding by money men & petty politicians...NUFC has arguably the best local fan base in the country+ [correct me if im wrong] the only major football stadium in England that is in the middle of the city center, hence the fan base. The problem at N/cle over many many years lies not with players or managers [although we could have done without some of them]but succesive failures by the management at board room level &the last idiot[Ashley]thought IMO he was buy ing a rich mans toy not an institution like N/cle Utd ,maybe he,s just got his fingers burnt............It would be nice to see some stability at St James Park & have some success for all who have their hearts in the club & the players whoever they may be.HOWAY THE LADS

Wow, how I remember that... Keegan was my hero and my old man got me a life size poster of him. (Still in a wardrobe in Dublin.) Then he went to Hamburg... I was gutted!

sorry geordie, ive just watched E S P N , and its not looking good. ashley wants something over 400 million , seeing his outlay is a little over 200 million , he may be overpricing the club . secondly pretty much the whole squad want out of newcastle and the shambles going on behind the scenes. looking at there performance at the weekend you could see their hearts wasnt in it . it is a great shame for the supporters and the city of newcastle . i hope something good happens soon .

Saint.. thanks for saying that about the fans & the city after all they are the biggest losers in this debacle .ive just looked at the the local press reports & they dont have much to say on the matter today . A reporter named John Gibson usually knows whats happening at NUFC before anyone else, reports @ http://www.chroniclelive.co uk .Heres hoping for a successful outcome sooner rather than later.HOWAY THE LADS.Geordie.

The latest scenario after 3 bad results is Nigerians---- still in Africa--------Arabs---- still in Arabia-------Ashley----still in hiding------Directors box---- empty at last nights game---------- Venables to take charge of the team in the next 48 hrs. Things go from bad to worse You couldnt make it up!!!!!!!!!

If they would just let the manager "manage" the side things might improve. ](*,)

Personally I think Venables has a very good football brain. :-k
Such is life.

Blimey,Nigerians wanting to buy the club....whatever next....a consortium led by Robert Mugabe wanting to take over !
If Venables became boss dont think he'd stand for interference by Dennis Wise whose presence is a major obstacle to the club getting sorted for the better IMO.
But after a home defeat to Spurs, another struggling side,in the Carling Cup it will have to be sorted sooner rather than later if Newcastle arent to be involved in a struggle to stay up.
But one bit of good news for them.....I've predicted they will draw 2-2 with Blackburn in the IKTS League this weekend. Also Everton v Liverpool 1-1......wins for Arsenal and Chelsea, unfortunately ! :(

El Tel in the frame, which has been ongoing for a few days now but they want him on a match by match basis. Surely he's a safe pair of hands to see them through this season while they sort things out, so why not sign him up for the rest of 08/09?

Hi,
According to information on uk msn site today El Tel never took the job, said it was to short term.
Also when i was over in UK last month it was stated that K.K. got the chop and did not quit.
Cheers Doug
