Heading West on the ring road, Tesco near side of road, take 1st left after Tesco. Baan Carabao is about 700mtrs on the left.

Had a lasagne here last night, excellent I must say.
But the bruschetta was meagre and the gf did not like the seafood spaghetti, her favourite Italian food :(

waiting for lasagna or other italian food I like to order bruschetta to kill some time unless it's at Picollo Roma where you get some excellent appetizer for free.

Two Hearts makes excellent bruschetta though, so the solution is to order lasagna at Carabao, drive to Two Hearts, eat bruschetta there and go back in time for the lasagna at Carabao :D

Or recommend the chief/owner of 2 Hearts to put lasagna on his menu :-({|=

Ordered lasagne a couple of times here and it was good although, IMO, the portion served was small. Might order a double portion if hungry next time. Also, didn't see pizza listed on their menu.

Great ambience, lots of parking available in the area and enjoyed looking over the Lamborghini and the waitresses. :D

The wife and I ate there earlier this week and were not impressed by the food or service. For starters, we were greated by a drunken Thai female who saw my camera and offered to let me take her picture for 1000 Baht. When I tried to order a Insalada mista, the waitress's eyed glazzed over. Finally got it accross by pointing to it on the menu. Also ordered spaggetti with meat sauce. We lived for 2 and a half years in Italy, so I think I know something about the food. This was the worst I've had in years. I realize that this runs counter to the previous posts on this thread, but it is factual. The wife and I both agree that the decor is quite nice, but it is a bit out of the way, and unless you really know your way around town, it is very hard to find. We won't be going back.

No doubt she was joking with you. Although I must agree with some of your points. Never having been there before but having read a few recommendations on this forum, I decided a couple of weeks ago to surprise her and take her to eat somewhere different from our usual haunts. We were greeted on arrival by about three different young ladies, with a wai. Good initial impression. Sat at a table near to the stage so we could listen and watch the music, which I assumed would be in the Carabao style, judging by the name of the place and the numerous posters of the group displayed.A smiling waitress gave us the menu from which I was disapointed to see didn't have many Italian dishes on.So I opted for the much talked about lasagne and some green musses al pomerdora. My wife stuck to the Thai dishes. The beer arrived quickly, in fact before the, by now, three waitresses had established what I was ordering. There was no Thai interpretation alongside the farang food and even my wife couldn't get them to understand. Eventually an older lady appeared that understood what I wanted and away they went and I relaxed in anticipation of the much talked about lasagna arriving. Not for long though. The guy at the next table lit the most revolting, smelly pipe I have ever experienced. As smoke always sends me into a sneezing fit, I called the waitress to cancel the food order and give me the drinks bill as were leaving immediately.A guy sitting with the smoker came over to us and apologised and said" I am the boss and can you sit inside away from the smoke. Now as we went there to see and hear the music there was no way I was moving. Eventually he told me the he has stopped the offending smoker, would I stay. Reluctantly I let my wife persuade me to "stop making a fuss"Fifteen minutes later the waitress came to tell me the lasagne was finished(At 7.00pm?)I looked again at the menu but couldn't see anything else I fancied, so it was on with the coat again. At this the boss shot over and suggested I try the meat balls.Well my wifes face told me it was time to shut up, so I accepted, after all they were only 100bht. With salad or french fries was the next decision to make.I took the french fries and later on was amazed to discover they were an extra 50bht.So 150bht for 6 smallish meat balls and chips. At this stage the lady boss came from the kitchen to explain that someone had bought all the lasagne as a takeaway, and profusely apologised. Well the balls came out, not much you can say about meat balls, is there, and the mussels never arrived, but the Thai food did, five in all, which the wife said were delicious. So at least she was happy. Then the musician appeared on stage, smoking, and told us the other half of the duo had someone hit his car and wouldn't be coming tonight. He then proceeded to play and sing? the normal Thai kareoke stuff.Guess it really wasn't my night.I would like to say however the serving girls were very efficient and polite and the owners wife was equally charming. But I don't think I will be going back. Too much excitement for me.

Ah well, half the population is soused. But point taken, not worth visiting that establishment again.

Sure you weren't in a hotel in Torquay?

A restaurant is always worth visiting again but getting your Thai Mrs/GF to go again might be a non starter...

Hotel in Torquay....?

Yes I know, and people wonder why I stick to about 6 regular places beside the night market, but it does get boring some times, so every once in a while I listen to what others have to say about new places.Whether my standards are vastly different or whether I am just unlucky I don't know, but it happens all the time.
