Logically, there are only so many good players available, so if you look at sensibly, it's understandable that we end up with similar squads. Mind you, with the recent results we have been having, logic goes straight out of the window.

AAArgh, what an effing weekend that was.
BM miles ahead now, good move buying Anelka and making him captain. Had been considering it myself, but will not now.
To be honest I've been making some stupid mistakes over the past few weeks and deserve to lose ground.

Mistake number 1. The Master Plan. Cocked up on the financing. Now find I'm 0.2m short to buy the player I wanted. Reverting to plan Z.

Mistake number 2. To finance the Master Plan needed to raise some money. Sold 1 Liverpool player for another, only to find my new player is banned. Learnt a lesson there, never do your transfers until the end of the week.

Mistake number 3. Ignored my lesson in mistake number 2. Bought a player today only to realise I probably won't play him next week.

Mistake number 4. Not all my own doing, but yesterday I had 4 players in my team that didn't play. Need to do more homework.

Funnily enough I thought about replacing Rooney with Anelka, instead of Torres who isnt fully fit yet.
But I decided against it......outcome is Rooney doesnt play along with Ferdinand and Cech......Anelka scores two goals again !
But nowhere did I read beforehand about Rooney and Ferdinand being injured as it says on BBC Sport today.
Anyway,at least I've got Ronaldo who scored two again and accumulated two thirds of my points !
Will there be anyway of stopping Sir Rodney Trotter now hes got his nose in front ? [-o<

Nice move by BH ....... drops Laursen to the bench, and then gets saved by Big Phil not playing Alex, so Laursen comes back in and scores 12 points :-"

Just noticed Sir Rodney (Mr 42carat) has the same scenario ........ Laursen will come in as an automatic sub for Ferdinand/Zaki, thus giving him another 12 ...... as if he needed them

He He He...i knew about Zaki, but only just found it AFTER the deadline, and Had no idea regarding Ferdinand (who is history, been looking for the right time to oust him..got someone in his boots already)..and knew Star Arsenal man Adeybayor was back in the team, but he only got 1 point, had a very near miss on goal though, Cech i sacrificed for Anelka...good move as Cech was out anyway..but will miss him i am sure, yes stroke of luck with Laursen a 12 pointer also hope Turner (Hull) has a decent result as the pair of them will be auto subbed for Zaki/Ferdinand..
Only a few weeks back i didn't like the idea of the auto sub...but was very wrong there..i am man enough to admit it too..

Ireland and Geovanni For a few points later today, and wait for updates of tables.

Just to point out my chin was on the floor when i had only gathered a few points and noticed i had 3 players not playing....but all change "Its a funny old game"

I am also just short of getting a main man on board, and you have to watch the 'daily' rising of values too.

Still got a bit of organizing to do..talks are on going.

I am sure Anelka had 32 points with a captaincy earlier ...now down 6 points...a late decision on an assist maybe.. :(

If you are talking about arbeloa he got a red card last week..so had a 1 match ban..has been marked 'Red' all week.. #-o

But sometimes at the end of the week fees have gone up and could be out of reach....
And Arteta scored a five and nasri 2.....sorry to point it out sure you spotted that already, very frustating at times but great fun..especially when notching up a few points, but the higher you are the harder you fall.

Congratulations to Sir Rodney. Anelka nearly amassed as much as my whole sodding team. Turner & SWP playing at the moment... Maybe SWP can get a couple... I live in hope!

Well SWP got a yellow card but no goals...Turner bagged a single point.. :(

Unlike Ireland who bagged two goals and netted 13 points.. =D>

And My Good trusted (bargain priced) pal Geovanni bagged 10 points with a goal .

Coupled with Laursen coming on as a sub...added 12.

Tables just updating so can't see others scores..but a good week for me and a few others.

And a note on Zaki...he got sore ribs and got Flu symptoms, should be back next game.

Not quite right there BM. If he had a red card he would have had a 3 match ban. He got a yellow, he's 5th, for a 1 match ban. It wasn't until Tuesday that they updated things. I transferred him on the Monday I think. Hence best not to transfer too early in the week, which I still do. :(

Congrats to Beer Monkey on his score of 87 which I think is a record beating Rons 85 ?
Some very high scores this week in contrast to the previous weekend......souness 72,Ron 71 and farang did well with 64.Quite a midfield youve got there ! Those 48 transfers starting to kick in now ! :D

Anyone got the mobile number for Keith Harris (No not the Orvill one #-o ) at Seymour Pierce?
Think i'll do a Mike Ashley and sell the team. Life on a yaught moored off Monte Carlo has to be better than watching my fantasy team (under)performing every week.

Second thoughts Orvills number will do ......... at least with him in the team I'm guarenteed a duck, and he's no more Quackers than the rest of my selections. :fryingpan: sorry ..... (I'll get my coat)

My gaffe for this week was switching from Ronaldo to Lampard as captain at the last moment. Of course, Ronaldo got 18 points but could've been 36 for my side. Lampard got 3 so I ended up with 6 points.

Anyone know why Rooney didn't play? Was it his accumulation of yellow cards or an injury? Not that it matters anymore to me since I transferred him today. A little too erratic to play on my team. lol. Yeah, right. Took Anelka who has had three consecutively great weeks. Hope he can continue it against Newcastle next week.

Congrats to BM on climbing to the top. Nice week for most of the teams. 11 out of 13 teams scored 50+ points. =D>

Felt a bit sorry for the Thai guy in my head to head league this week. He scored sixty odd points and LOST BY 40 :yikes:

Denmark and 'Ireland' just wonderful places. States and Spain ok. Maybe OZ and Paraquay need reconsideration.

11 out of 13 teams scoring more than 50 points. My team going backwards at a rate of knots. :fryingpan:

At least Van Persie is back this week and hopefully due for a few goals... [-o<

My football manager skills are obvious. Maybe I'll buy...... http://www.footballmanager.com/ and try to improve some of my sadly lacking skills. Oh well, I might contemplate using my wildcard soon.

Arrrrr yes indeed, handy to know,i have not been following him so didn't realize he picked up so many yellows and 59 not to be sniffed at and it was 1 man down remember.

And Gozzo a wild card is on the cards for sure, but you still got a few good players in already, played my card in the 2nd or 3rd week as i didn't really know what i was doing when i first picked a team, #-o still worked out ok.

A few of my mates are hanging on until after the January transfer window before using their wild card.
Personally, I would have thought that might be a bit late.

In my public league a guy had over 100 points this week, but had made a load of transfers, bringing him down to the 80's. Makes you wonder if we should stick to 1 a week?
