Comedy actor Reg Varney, best known for playing driver Stan Butler in ITV sitcom On The Buses, has died aged 92. He died following a short illness in a nursing home in Budleigh Salterton, Devon, where he had recently been admitted with a chest infection.
I grew up with 'Stan' and his buses...quite literally too, as the show used the very same double decker Green Eastern national buses that i used to get on when i was a very young man, if you look on some of the buses they still got the advertisments on them for local attractions...still love the On the buses series/films very much and view them often, also he opened a village fete where i lived once, i must of been about 8 or so.Its sad to read the news of Reg Varneys Death.
What was the name of the other series he did? ........ where he lived next door to a West Indian couple ........ very NON PC, but very funny all the same.

Reg Varney was Stan Izzix. I think you mean Arthur?? He was played by Michael Robbins who died back in 1992. Olive (Anna Karen) is still with us. She was on the Saturday Night Project a month or so back. She's 72 now and still a top babe!!
