How to Report Nigerian Scams etc

Post by wazza » November 21, 2008, 10:41 pm

The Australian government has set up a " Dont get Scammed " web site to assist people in their decision making !!

Australians are amongst the highest scammed nation world wide and continue to contribute millions every year to these con people.

The web link below allows you to report the email scam you have received.

http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/ind ... mId/694011

It lists a significant number / types of scams out there for the unsuspecting receiver of their emails. Worth reading , Doesnt have the WBU as yet

Probably the same scumbags who scam the elderly back in the states and Canada via telephone. Think the do-not-call list put a bit of a crimp to a lot of those, however. Also have the TV evangelicals preying on the elderly and slow witted ones back there. Never noticed any Nigerians on the shows but not a regular viewer. [-o<

Ba Bob

It was originally written a few months ago in a Queeensland ? newspaper , when a Police Superintendent again advised Australians about the scams. It was following a huge scam involving 2 highly qualified professional people, who lost over a $1,000,000 i think.

The Scamers even flew to Oz, to authenticate the entire scam,

This is the original link that then had more stories filter from it.

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/st ... 02,00.html

In Queensland alone over $500,000 a month going offshore to scamers

an online comment about this was

" Thank god for the scammers, they weed out the idiots in our society "

Alot of the scams come out of Nigeria. I think they teach it in their schools, Scamming101. Sometimes, I'll copy the text of one email and send it to the reply email address of another. Let them scam each other.
